I usually try to defend Blue Moon, but charging £25 for something that looks like you could knock it together yourself for about a quid is really beyond me.  :|

It could just be the rather flat paintjobs, but these just aren't doing it for me.

I do like the big selection of alternate pilot heads though. That is a cool idea.

True enough, the price is wayyyyy too high and the paintjob is quite crappy, however these kits just ooze Retro SF adn Martian invaders.

So much potential for a GOOD paint!

The paintjob makes them look like cheap plastic toys for kids, so it makes their price appear even higher.

Very nice indeed, I especially like the ship with the fin but I agree that presentation always lets the range down.

I bit more variation in the range wouldn't go amiss either - perhaps a decent Rocket Ship. I really need to get a Denny's Cup from somewhere...

Cool idea but WAY too expensive! :(
It looks a little like a "concept" model rather than a finished product. They haven't even bothered to get rid of the US serial number from the bubble!

It would be much cheaper to get two plastic plates and stick them together. You can get the plastic bubble from those cheap toy dispensing machines.

These are nothing special eough to warrant purchasing THESE models.  I could achieve a similar result by purhcasing retired smoke alarms, food tins.  Heck I am working on a wonky time machine made from a clear plastic container used for delicious brownie bites.

I think if you are going to charge that price, you need to offer something more like a Rocket Ships, Hover Sled, just somethign with a bit more form and detail.  I wonder how much of that price is the cost of the clear plastic domes?

Not much. I've been to manufacturer sites that sell something those sizes for no more than a few bucks each. The cost almost has to be the amount and of resin and the problems in producing things so large. It's certainly not in the detail.

Those domes can be had for a few cents each. I've seen them in person at Cold Wars and they looked much better unpainted. I'm guessing they just slapped on a coat of glossy spray paint for these photos.

The price might look high overseas, but here in the states it isn't as bad, especially with the OG Army discount.

I am not positive on this, but If you join the Old Glory army ($50) you get 40% off.  It is actually a pretty good deal considering you get 12 figures + 40% off all orders for a year.  I am not sure if this applies to Blue Moon Figures or not.  It did when I went to Cold Wars or was it Fall-In.

Here is the link to Old Glory
http://www.oldgloryminiatures.com/

40% off all products
Regular drawings for painted units, etc.
A fully laminated membership card
Every Old Glory Army Card Member will receive 1 free Pirate Captain (unpainted) the first week of every month for a year. - That's right - you'll get 12 free Pirate Captains over the course of a year! What a bargain!!
Non-members, aka Civilians, may purchase the Pirate Captains by using this link
Many surprises coming that will be reserved for card members only

I've been tempted off an on by some of the Blue Moon figures, especially after seeing Throadwater's excellent paint job of the Frankenstein boxed set. And the space ships are kind of cute. But, and it's a big BUT, OG UK is charging almost £1 to the dollar, and shipping at $37 a time from the US is way out of line.

That's crazy!  Last summer when I was in England it took two of my dollars to buy one of your pounds.  I just had to adjust my mind not to notice how much I was spending.  Sounds like OG is really gouging you.  This should be the time when people outside the USA can buy any USA products really cheap.

It's still 2 dollars to the pound and we're still the rip-off capital of the world  :(
