I finished these chaps a couple of days ago, and was quite proud of them, so thought you might like to see.

Victorian explorer Sir Vivian Rawlinson, resplendant in hunting pink ("Foxes or lions, it's all huntin', what?")

Francis "Frenchie" LaBelge

And a few of the loyal bearers that Sir Vivian's drunken roarings haven't managed to chase away yet.

Comments and crits all welcome as usual.  :)

I love 'em. You're pullin the off-white off quite nicely  :)

Did you use Foundry Shady Flesh for the porters?
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Thanks!  :)

The African flesh is my own recipe (all GW paints):

Black undercoat
Bestial Brown
Brown Ink
Bestial Brown highlight
4:1 mix Bestial Brown and Bronzed Flesh final highlight.

I think it gives a nice warm tone, although sometimes the final highlight looks a little too light until you varnish the fig and it brings it all together like magic.

Slightly less Bronzed Flesh for darker skin, like on these Pygmies:

Blimey Jolly Bob you have been a bit prolific recently, dinos, hunters etc, all splendid stuff :)

Aye, I was feeling most underproductive in the "minis what you have done this month" threads, so I really pulled the stops out this time.

There's a couple more things I haven't posted yet, and a few days left to finish the rest.

Also, we got Sky+ recently, so there is now no chance at all of me being distracted by the tv as I can never get near it. Every cloud, what?  8)

Those Pygmies are incredibly non-PC, but awesome. And that hunting party - yum! Excellent work.

Yes, I really don't know how Kallistra still get away with selling them. But they are fun little things and I have tons, so I'm glad they do.

Thanks for your comments on the painting too Chris, much appreciated.

Redde caesari quae sunt caesaris ! I really like that red coat, but my favourite is that touch of gold on the leftmost African musketeer. Makes for a beautiful touch of colour.

PS: I think Francis Lebelge is more suitable than Labelge ;)

Ah.   You spotted my deliberate mistake then? Ahem.

Yes, you're quite right. My schoolboy French is not that good these days. Wasn't up to much then, as I recall.
