They are very effective. I especially like the depth of the shop windows. It gives them a really photogenic look.

i have to say, those are some of the finest paperworks i've seen around. The prices on the site are not too expensive, and this can be a valid solution to have a good table! =)

Great job!

Very nice work indeed. The models look good as supplied, but it's the work you've done to them to match them to your figs and to personalise them (love the furniture shop named for your grandad that you've put on your blog) that really sets them off. I think your scale is fine, the main problem I find with minis is the bases that add too much height, and there's no real way around that when matching terrain to figs. People don't come with large thick manhole-covers attached to their feet after all.

But, you definitely need to make more houses...

That's a shot from Google Streetview near where I live. The houses were built around 1880-90, and there's more than 50 terraced houses on the right-hand side of the street. And there are some much longer streets than that in the town where I live... though to be fair, the terraced streets like this tend to branch off the really long roads, which would be the ones with the 'low relief High Street' buildings, maybe.

Anyway - superb work, very inspiring!

Thanks for the comments everyone. I have to agree that the designer over at scalescenes did a great job on the images. A good portion of the textures are from photo images rather than being had drawn, so they have a really natural look to them.

Red Orc, the terraced house kit will let you build a row as long as you like; I just broke it into individual buildings for ease of storage. I'll be adding more buildings, but don't think I can convince the wife to give up enough of her linen clost for a full street's worth.  ;)

Love the Hartnell & Troughton watch repair shop.   :-*

All your buildings are very inspirational.  I don't think I could manage such detailed work. Congratulations.

Yes; Scalescenes is a great site!

You've done up your buildings really well; many kudos for them. All of those together should look quite awesome!  8)

I've so far only worked on the free low relief warehouse from his site, as a means of trying his products and I fully intend to have a go at many more, especially the church; it's great!

Here's my (almost finished; the street surface needs painting) Warehouse, which I want to use as a background for photographing miniatures:

I've not yet clicked onwards to your blog, but what materials do you use? I've used thick mounting board and card for mine and used his conversion key to scale up the template to OO scale. But for the next tries, I'd rather go a bit larger still. I personally think that 1/50 scale for buildings would be perfect, as that would negate some of the basing problems mentioned earlier a bit and 1/48 models also do not look out of place.

Yup; I can heartily recommend Scalescenes for sure...

Keep up your efforts! :)
