interesting style, very similar to Machinarium, do you know it?

anyway, i love the idea of building its own miniatures... and those are veery nice!

Exactly what I was thinking when I saw the photos. Lovely game. Simple but good.

Hi!

Thanks for the comments folks!

At present I've develops concepts for six different tribes, each with their own look and fighting style.

The Reds, metal working types who rely heavily on fire and hammer based attacks.

The Blues, nautical swashbucklers with an obsession with the films of Errol Flynn.

The Yellows, inhabitants of the more toxic areas of the Scrapyard.

The Whites, a small tribe of somewhat inept but obsessive fans of flying and speed.

The Greens, Robots which have become overgrown with vegetation which has given them some strange ideas.

The Blacks, renegades and and outlaws of the Scrapyard.

Theres a bit more info on each of them over on my Rusty Robots blog here: http://rustyrobots.blogspot.co.uk/p/the-tribes-of-scrapyard.html

The general gist of the setting is that the robots inhabiting the Scrapyard are obsolete and were abandoned but have developed their own primitive civilisation and societies.

I have begun slow development of a ruleset but its a long way off at present and am more interested in fleshing out the setting and getting some figures into production!

Speaking of which, the first of the Crawlers and Renegades are almost complete and I will try and get a quick picture of them up today!

All the best!

Hopefully you get to launch the production soon, really fun stuff.

Although I had not planned to start new potential hobby projects, the robot minis so far have got me hooked. Will be great to follow your progress.

I liked all the faction ideas apart from the Greens, which seem a bit... half-hearted for some reason?

What about if instead of communing with nature and being infested with plants, the Greens are very low-tech and more steam-powered? The Greens could have colours and styles that are reminiscent of the old Victorian steam tractors for example but with lots and lots of rust, and use steam/water-based attacks. Fluff-wise, they could still live in the forested areas, but the relative lack of scrap in those areas has led them to adapt accordingly and include the use of materials like timber (either as structural elements or for fuel?).

Hi!

Theres some work in progress pics over on my blog:

http://spacecowsmith.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/new-robotic-previews.html

I will also try and post some pics of the Black raider I am building at the moment!

As for the Greens, they are a bit of an oddity as the plants and trees which are growing on them have got into their innards so they are kind of like zombies...

As for a more steampunk faction, there is an Isambard Kingdom Brunelbot designed and ready to be built with some Victorian goodness too!

All the best!

Wonderful project you have going! The look of the robots and the idea of the world seems to meld a lot of great pieces from many games and media I enjoy. I'm always looking for gaming stuff I can do with my little daughter. The relative elegant simplicity of the sculpts would be easier to paint with young hands, yet serve as a wonderful canvas for more skilled hobbyists.

Hi!

Thanks for the comments folks! I have been busily working away with sculpts and background for each of the factions and thus far have about half a dozen of the Black Tribe robots finished and ready for casting.

Heres a quick pic of some very rough concepts of the little villains:

At present I have sculpted them with the option of fists and guns but hope to add more arm options such as spears and more esoteric weaponry later.

The greens are also getting a complete re-write and more info and pics can be found over on my http://rustyrobots.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/and-so-it-begins.html

All the best!
