Lapin Rouge, are you JUST using a pen to make the stone patterns, or are you also using a knife or engraving tool to make the pattern deeper?
Measure with a micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with an axe, hammer to fit, paint to match!

Amazing stuff. Really makes me wanna try out that blue foam.
One thing, how does that stuff stand the rigors of gaming?
It seems that it's very fragile and prone to get dented.
'Mercy? I am far to brave to grant you mercy.'

It's actually surprisingly tough and resiliant. Or it seems like it based on some rough handling on my workbench!

small foam board (3mm)  are fragile, but when you use 6mm + it's very resistant.
And white glue and paint make the stuff very tough when it's dried.
When i use 3mm foam board, i stick foam on cardboard what makes it very resiliant.

Of course, some pieces or details in balsa wood are a bit fragile, but i try not to make it too much.

Thanks for the tips, both. I'm gonna go give it a try then.

Lapin Rouge - thanks very much, that is very helpful information. I think it will be a long time before I get to your standards though!

Hi, as i said i'm actually making a medieval stable.

I'll show you how i'm making it. i hope you'll enjoy :)

i begin by the house, and the main part of the stable, then i'll make the inside of the house, the the roof, and green spaces.

I know you say you are patient, but that is a gross understatement. I have used the technique, but only for the odd hovel or ruin but that was enough to try my patience. All respect to you sir.

I don't know if you can see the opening system of the stable's doors, so i make news pictures to show you.

The system is not enought reliable, but the main idea is here ! i'll try to do something stronger.

What the... This is absolutely amazing!

I'm wondering: how do you store four fricking giant castles? My wife would get the fits, tolerant as she is, if I started filling our rooms with constructions of this size...
understanding is a three-edged sword
