Dystopian Legions Prussians
« on: February 17, 2013, 11:00:02 AM »
I just bought a couple of the Dystopian Legions Prussians on the german Sweetwater Forum. Try to paint them quick as I want to have them ready for a small con near me, where they will hopefully find a new home... ;)

They are looking really good. I do love that Lieutenant figure.

Not fond of yet another scale, I'm wondering if they couldn't work as clockwork automatons. Bronze to the face and hands, maybe a few gears at the elbows and knees.

Just a thought...

They're great figures and you've done a fantastic painjob on them, they really look mavellous. That battlesuit is awesome.

In fact, its the figure I dislike the most! ;) And he didn't turn out as good as I wished.

The scale is quite a problem if you want to combine them with other company's. As I'm not that interested in VSF gaming its not that bad for me! ;)
I'm not sure about the automatons, maybe they would just look to organic.

Thank you! In fact, there are two battlesuits... ;)
The second one was missing one shoulderpad, so I tried to paint it as if he was hit on his right shoulder. But you can't see it that clear on the pic.

How right you are, there are indeed two battlesuits. because the lighting in the first pic isn't as good I hadn't really paid much attention to it and read it as the same battle suit as in the following pic.

Those two battlesuits are awesome!

What scale are these?

It looks like they are a similar size to AT-43 and Dust Figures ~ 1/48'ish.  ::)

Bad choice of scale on Dystopian's part.  At 28 mm they could have had crossover purchasers who wanted to increase their Steampunk collections.  As big as these are, they can mix with nothing but themselves (and I would hazard that the universe of gamers who would want to play Dystopia will be smaller than those who would have augmented Steampunk German/Prussian armies).

Nevertheless, the minis look very well sculpted and I love your work on them :).

Shame...I was vaguely interested in their future stuff - didn't realize the scale was so absurd.  Tsk tsk.

Beautiful work, Turbo-Ben!  :D

I was hoping to cherry-pick some of this line for our games, but that looks far less likely based on the bloated scale.

Thanks for the info.
