Requesting help for Germans' color scheme
« on: February 19, 2013, 02:13:14 PM »
Hi all,
Recently I purchased a Wargames Factory WWII German infantry platoon, and so far I am very happy with the figures-their detail, mold quality, poses, ect. are all very decent in my opinion, especially for the price. On to painting....

I am seriously mulling over how to paint them, with this goal in mind: while I would like them to be usable for late war/WWW2 games, the majority of my gaming is sci fi, so I was hoping to find a (somewhat) historically sound paint scheme that would not scream "Nazi." aI would like these troops to do double duty as PDF troops in pure sci fi games, so a feldgrau helmet/uniform is out. Also, I am terribly slow at painting camo, so that is probably out too. I was hoping the good people here at LAF might have some suggestions for me as to possible historical (but not iconic) late war German uniform color schemes.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Also, I was not sure where to post this, as it pertains to WW2, WWW2, and sci fi. It seemed this board was the best fit. I hope that okay with the other members.

Many thanks!  :D :D :D :D :D :D

the cut of the uniforms and helmets are pretty iconic so there is no ay they are not going to be seen as  German soldiers of WW2. Best thing is to suck it up and paint them in camo.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Of course you could go craze and paint then in bright garish colors or in old 1900c style Prussian uniforms, but with modern kit.
