has anyone bought from...
« on: February 21, 2013, 05:23:44 PM »
these folk
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/m.html?_from=&_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ssn=aylafred&_pgn=2&_skc=25&rt=nc

I have had two losing bids in, and on both occasions was given 'second chance' to buy at my highest bid (even though there was just two of us in the race both times. I had only increased my bid because of the other chap, then he withdrew - seems a bit cheeky to ask me to outbid someone who was no longer interested!)
Otherwise they seem to have some interesting vehicles at reasonable (starting) prices that I cannot exactly pin down. The tanks look fine but are unidentified beyond being 'tank'.

Any folk out there with some experience?

Have bought once, though bought 5 tanks at the same time. Lost a bid on artillery piece and was offered a 2nd chance to buy one, didn't buy.

Took a while to receive the tanks, I guess he makes them after somebody wins a bid. Tanks are kitbash versions of interwar period, so historical accuracy is so and so but good enough for my meager AVBCW project. Scalewise closer to 25mm than 28mm.

It looks like many of the cars they are selling are toy cars with guns added. Anyone know the source of these?  I'd rather buy at a fixed price froma retail shop than go through an auction.

Thanks!

There are lots of Matchbox Yesterday vehicles there with a gun added and sprayed grey.

Thanks - I was afraid of that.  I guess ebay is really the only source then. :?

Some of the vehicles are the ones PMC started selling on their eBay site so its probably another off shoot of them. I'm also wondering if he has something to do with the Partizan shows as he seems to have an awful lot of 'Kelham Monks' and previously the Elizabeth figure...

A tank I ordered them arrived today, resin cast very good and crisp, my only issue its more 25mm than 28mm in size, but dont let put you off, certainly can be used for a VBCW 2 man tank.

Cheers

I bought three of his tankettes.  Good price and a quick service.  Casting is basic but I am happy with them.

I'm currently scratch building a series of similar tanks. Its interesting to see how some one else has gone about solving the various problems I've encountered (though he seems to have simply by passed a lot of the design issues I've pondered long and hard over)

I just put a bid in on some of his artillery
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

I picked up one of his less identifiable tanks for my VACW. With so few tanks available in 1933 (the French are still using mainly FT17s, no German tanks, the Italian tankettes just beginnign production, ect) I use than as newly designed and manufactured tankettes from the Caterpiller plant in Peoria. They will be the Mark IIs and I'll use some Prussian Dystopian Legion tankeetes ad Mark Is.

The stuff is great for 'fantasy' ie VBCW etc. Good prices and they look good - just don't think about historical accuracy  :)
