This was linked to in a yahoo group. It has been mentioned here once I think but no link to it. I thought it may be of interest.

Someone's pulling your leg, mate. If those are real then I'm a potted plant.

They are great, though. Definitely worth linking to. And much real stuff that was dreamt up but never or almost built is just as weird.

I love this one

HUMBLEY-PUDGE GALLIPOLI HEAVYISH BOMBER
Lewis gun blazing, flour bags cascading down, the pachydermic Gallipoli terrorized practice target ranges across the empire from [933 to 1939. Four Varley "Panjandrum" motors screwed her up to a cruising altitude several feet over the legal minimum of the day.

The Gallipoli's moment of glory came and, lightning like, vanished during the surprise Japanese invasion of Singapore in early 1942. Hordes of Nips swarmed toward the R.A.F. aerodrome; (nit went the call, "Warm up the Gallipolis!" And, indeed, 36 of the breed might have risen to meet the foe had not their special boarding ladders turned up missing. The sobriquet Sitting Duck has clung to the Gallipoli ever since an unjust cut in view of this perfectly harmless old war horse's clearly worthwhile intentions. The last survivor serves today as a chicken house-albeit an impressive one-for the Maharani of Gunjipor.

It crash-landed on her lawn in 1944, but the R.A.F., despite numerous reminders, simply keeps forgetting to come round and pick it up.

Visions from the illustrious Bruce McCall. If you can ever lay your hands on one of his books, it's worth any price (within reason).

Yes, his humor is similar to Poly's but I'd never made that connection before. Sort of a mish-mash of historical references turned into caricature.

This court has no jurisdiction over Quar visuals. Appellant's motion is dismissed for lack of jurisdiction, without prejudice. :)

Now all we need now is "Dastardly & Muttley In Their Flying Machines" - "stop the pigeon."
Best wishes,

I want a DOMBROWSKI-SEDLITZ.
Although the Scud at the top would be a nice project too.
What I found most funny however was an ad with a link to AirMalta to the side!

They come from a softback book I have somewhere that is basicly a collection of silly pulp-style ideas that range from US 1950's cars that are 20ft long to cities of the future as seen in the 1930's and Zeppelin Shoots (the authors advise Austro Hungarian shoots, the British being somewhat stingy in the numbers of zeps provided and the Germans cheating rather by using artillery). Can't remember the name but its jolly Lead Adventurer type stuff.
