Comrades,

in November (as was the case with the October revolution) we, the Mannheim and Darmstadt Soviets (not really), are organising an RCW-themed gaming "convention". We would like to meet and play a variety of RCW and BoB themed games. We don't really want to put any restrictions, so anyone participating has been invited to bring along scenarios (historically inspired or otherwise). We will do so as well.

We have tried to find a large enough space for us to play, but obviously it has it's limits. I am looking forward to seeing how large it will get. Turbo-Ben is keeping track I am certain. This is just a gaming meeting after all and not really a convention the likes of Salute. :)

We are creating this thread, so we can post our progress and discuss the meeting in general. As for example these great scenic elements already on our blog (URL below):

We are aware that up until now we have been addressing this to people in proximity to Germany. This will be too small of a meeting to really draw international crowds. But should you want to come by, where ever you are, who are we to hold you back. Just let Turbo-Ben, our Organisation Commissar, know (or visit the blog if you speak German).

Thank you for listening. This message will self-destruct when I've finished painting my army... so don't count on it.

Till then, visit:

Ignore this order at your own peril!

Cracking idea Remington!  I'd love to, but I think I've run out of bargaining chips on the home front :'(. Never say never though!
"...and as always, we are dealing with strange forces far beyond our comprehension...."

All limitations are self imposed.  Work hard and dream big.

Should you change your mind, let us know. We will have to prepare a special seat for the BoB King! :)

Excuse the double post, but I've started painting my Bolsheviks by now and decided to do a test mini for a faster way of painting. :) Hope dies last...

Anyway... this fella took 2 hours so perhaps my hopes aren't unfounded. :P I'm quite pleased with it.

This fella looks really nice, especially the warm Brown of his boots! If you want to Safe some extra time: don't paint the boots or shoes, just Cover them with mud or dust.

What month????????   ???

Or am I supposed to have read and inwardly digested all of this? It is a Sunday and I have just got back from WMMS where I only spent £21 on M&T Canoes.

Yes and yes! ;)

We will present one or two games and others will also do (the Berlin-Gang for example will show their own roleplay based skirmish system) but it is not limited to this. We want to give everyone the possibility to try and play every game they want, as long as its based in the BoB, with other guys interested in the same genre.

Someone already thought about a mini campaign, etc. We are open for your ideas!

We have about 24 tables of 0,8x1,4m if I remember correctly (can check this when I get back to the room) which can be grouped to bigger tables if needed. I can also bring bigger wood panels to provide more space if needed and there are more tables in the backroom that could be used. So everything from single to big multiplayers will be possible.

We also want to drink a lot of vodka and listen to russendisko all the time and even can watch russian films on a very big screen at night! ;)

I really wished I lived somewhere evenly remotely close to Germany, but western Canada to Europe is a bit much for just one con. Now if I could only win the lottery...
