New Tabletop Workshop Wargame Scenery
« on: March 13, 2013, 01:28:42 PM »
Hey,
So a couple of weeks ago, I was on here telling you about the plastics company I work for going into Wargame scenery using a 3D printer and a few of you said you were interested. Well yesterday, we released pictures of our first Wargame building. This is a variety of highly detailed floors, walls, roofs and other miscellaneous objects that can be easily built up without the need of glue giving the gamer freedom to build whatever he chooses. We plan to experiment releasing different varieties and timescales of the parts so that buildings can be easily changed and created.
I've left some images and my blog which fully explains our original concept below! Feedback is well appreciated so don't be shy!

That looks pretty good. The price will be the big selling point I imagine. I'd guess there is a market in this for modern buildings. Office blocks and Victorian terraces look like they'd be very achievable.

Looking good!
But like everyone else, I'm curios about the price :)

The finished design will have a lift out floor and much more detail on the inside and outside.
An initial estimate at the price looks to be £15-20 for the initial kit. But if you keep up to date with our mailing list (I've attached a link below) we'll tell you when the products ready for sale and you'll find a final price there!
At the present we intend to design a lot more medieval panels, for example a front of a shop rather than a house. However, we will be looking into other genres in the near future such as gothic and european designs. We're yet to be sure what it's going to be yet.
Thanks for the feedback!

I've signed up for the mailing list as I'm keen to see how this develops. I genuinely think modern buildings would sell very well, especially if they are modifiable.

The plastic will be the same styrene plastic that most wargame injection molded parts come in. Think a Games Workshop plastic part!

is that a 3d print then?

one small thought, the base is rather thick, could you engineer it so the sides touch the table and the base is inside the walls (if that makes sense)?

Looking forward to seeing this develop........hopefully you will think along German 'old town' lines at some point....every time I visit Wittenberg I think of the modelling potential.

We think that the finished product which we'll sell is going to be made by plastic injection at the minute. Although we would be able to 3D print special ones on request which will have more detail.
