Round 10 off... and that's a wrap  ;)

Just got mine in! 10 new entries! I consider that a win in itself!  :D

My thanks to the volunteers and organizers who donated their time on this! It was a blast!

And to my fellow competitors--your work continues to amaze me. Well done, everyone!

Bill

P.S. I feel like I should be painting something...

P.S. I feel like I should be painting something...

I usually have a withdrawal period after the LPL... like I'm forgetting to do something important...

Maybe a non-competitive 'Intramural LPL' will be in order... 'oldest thing in the Lead Pile' only?  :)

This is certainly a feeling I share...the lack of constant stress about finding the time to get things finished is quite odd for awhile.

As to the future I will personally shift my focus to the many other painting contests on other forums that I visit....Bugmans, CDO, OldHammer,...all of which are less stressful
Than the LPL but are great motivation to get something done!  I have one more unit of bretonnian men at arms to complete to finish the infantry portion of that warband...so they will be my first victims.

Cheers,

Blue

Sorry guys, no new entry rom me for round ten. i was on holiday and couldn't manage to finished my planned set and didn't want t reuse old material (otherwise the starship troopers would have been back ;))

Strangly enough, while I normally have a paint burn-out as well, it doesn't feel like one is there this year. At least not at the end of the LPL. Halfway though, when I painted a lot of models for some warhammer tournaments, I could not care for any painting anymore.   However today my coolminiornot annulas arrived and I'm getting a good feeling for painting a few more morels.

Anyhow, everyone good luck in the last round!
Why aim for gold if you can get lead?

Well, it's been a pleasure to have competed with you again Gentlemen (I don't think we have any ladies involved this year).  I've even spent a couple of weeks in the top half of the rankings and won more rounds than I've lost.  So, a great result for me.

Thank you Paul for running this year's LPL and to Ray for the leaderboard updates.

Yes, it was a great challenge to paint to a weekly tempo. The thing I quite enjoyed was the planning and logistics of the League (figure choice, colour, composition, etc.). I wanted to try something different every round and for the most part managed to keep up. To be honest I'm not sold on the single photo format of the League but other than that small quibble I had an excellent time of it.

Many thanks to all the participants and especially to the organizers whose hard work made this all possible.

Best,

Curt

sorry for quoting that nearly completely, but that was exactly my thinking last year! I am really looking forward to participate again, next year!

My problem is a bit, that I cannot "paint in advance" for such a contest. WHEN I paint something I wanted to show it a soon as possible, listen to feedback and suggestions, and also grab some nice comments, if so. However ... next year I intend to have this special fun again!

best wishes and ... also thanks for the mind-boggling fun of choicing!

It feels weird to be sitting here on a Saturday with no new round to look forward to! I'm new to the board and this is my first competition like this, and I've had an absolute blast seeing the entries week after week. I'm going to miss rooting on my favorites and checking the leaderboard every week. Everyone did such a great job! Congratulations to all the participants--well done!
