Great stuff!

Inspired theoretical rambling:  Now, I have no ideas if your rules have a campaign mode but in a campaign setting, wouldn't those Cadet casualties be hard to replace?  Then a Smashing tactical victory could become a strategic loss if early in the campaign?

I love when games require people to treat their soldiers as valuable assets (spend as necessary if needed) instead, as often happens in a stand alone game, of assets to be squandered for a game win.

Looks like it was a "likely but not guaranteed" win/test scenario.  Well played.  As always.

Gracias,

Glenn

Yes indeed, Glenn. We don't have all the campaign rules worked out for our Venus 1881 setting, but it will generally be more difficult for the Earth forces to replace their casualties.

This was a worst-case scenario for the Newts, but I was fairly happy with how my little lizards performed. I'm looking forward to a rematch!

However, rushing across an open field at a prepared position filled with a motivated and well armed foe may not be the best tactic. Brilliant!  lol

Excellent photos and models!  :-* Good game report, too.

A campaign setting always adds spice to the situations the various forces find themselves in. My Colonial campaign has me treating my little lead fellows very carefully at times.  ;)

Hey everyone! Thanks for all the kind replies. Here's a couple more miniatures I've painted up for our Venus 1881 scenarios. :D

Doctor Nagel – Has cataloged thousands of new species on Venus, “True understanding is directly proportional to ones willingness to wield a scalpel.”

Shamus McCorkadale – The Chief Exchange Officer for the Cytherium Gas Guild.

Patches Hennessey – Known far and wide for his wild tales, Patches is a legend among the other Cytherium miners.

Here's some beautiful Hinterland miniatures Dad painted up recently. They'll be another league for our Venus 1881 Pulp Alley campaign setting.

Dad's done a really great job on those trenchers.  Thanks for showing them off so effectively.

Thanks, Jason. I had a lot of fun painting these gals. I'd like to get a few of the mounted lancers if I can track down a suitably weird mount for them.

Cool, thanks for the tip. :) I'll let Dad know. I was just looking at them and they look really great.

Do you know about how tall they are compared to the Hinterland miniatures?

taller than a horse, but much more slender. I don't have the Hinterland girls to compare, but they can't be as bulky as plastic catachans
else try the new dark Ekf mounts from GW, they are a bit sturdier  and are really cool sculpts, though a bit more expensive, but then less harness to do
