Gloire in Stock
« on: October 31, 2006, 06:31:32 PM »
Received my stock of Gloire today and it looks really great in print.

For any people who missed it, we are offering all 36 miniatures in our Three Musketeer Range and Gloire for just £30, effectively giving you Gloire for free.

The offer runs until the end of November.

Rampant commercialism!!

Can you save a copyof the rules for me? I have spent my money this month on figures and stuff and won't be able to get it until the end of November but I'd like to publicly announce my interest now :)

Apparently it'll do for running Dune games!

I know! It's appalling and must stop at once! Er. No, wait. Scratch that.

Better than you'd expect, particularly since things like lasguns with their capacity to set off nuke-sized 'splosions preclude their use in a skirmish game. Small firearms like stunners work well of the regular .45 Adv gun rules. Personal shields end up folding into the melee rules pretty straightforwardly as regular armor.

In a perfect world, Herr Ochmann would do a range of Dune-inspired minis when he's got a moment from sculpting zombified Baluchis.

As the world is definitely far from perfect you'll probably have to wait until I'm reborn in a next life to do some Dune minis.

The original film was ok but not too spectacular. What came then I didn't pay explicitly attention to as I found them boring . Besides that it's not my kind of shoes when it comes to SF. Bladerunner/Outland and Aliens (second part) are definitely what I'm into and some smalish parts of Starship Troopers (the scenes with the large battleships when the burning globes appear over the planets horizon and especially when the two ships crash into each other - no zipping around with mega-ships like in other movies.)

For the time being Africa is my place to stay (miniaturewise) as I there can wallow in building nice terrain

Any chance that the Gloire Rules are available at Crisis ?

If so, please be so kind and tell Jens from Pardulon ( The company with the cool Resign warehouses for Pulp who stands probably side by side with Mr Bob Da Dawg)where he can find them. He wants to bring them for me to Kiel.

Cheers
Björn

In regards to all conventions over in Europe:

All my distribution for Europe is done through North Star and Tabletop Games. Unfortunately that makes it impossible for me to know what vendors will be carrying the rules. If you know of a vendor at a show, and you would like the rules, have them check with either of these two distributors.

I checked with Nick at North Star and he said BFB should be getting Gloire in stock. Also, there is a trader, Dave Thomas, who has gotten half a dozen of each of the rulebooks. But with only 6 of each, they may go quickly so get there early.

Pardon my ignorance, but can Gloire be used for Pirates?
