Rorkes Drift in 28mm
« on: April 14, 2013, 09:21:52 PM »
Had to organise this with an hour's notice for a local TV station, so the placement of stuff is not correct.  Anyway it was nice to get the terrain and figures out for a look before they are shipped off for the start of our season at Wargame Holidays.  Since the photos were taken, I've dry brushed the roofs of the two buildings and painted another 100 Zulus or so.  Missing in action at the moment are the NMP and the NNC NCOs that didn't run off, still painting them:

There are still a couple of hundred Zulus to add to this lot and there's no-one in the buildings....

Excellent models and a great little movie too. I have to admit the thought of being in Crete and not lounging on the beach with an ice cold beer seems, well a bit odd, but after seeing the set ups for the games you run out there you'd have to crowbar me out of the cellar come the end of the week!

Excellent bit of film, should've done something about the accent though  ;)

Thanks all - actually its pretty civilised as far as suntans are concerned - we start at 10, knock off for an hour at 1 and then play through until 6.  It's still hot until at least 8.  As for beers, well the beer tap and bottles are one flight above your head, so why bother with water to keep you cool when freezing cold beers do the same job?
I've written my own set, very straightforward - when I've typed them up properly I'll post them and see what you think.  Have play tested them a few times.  They are based on several ideas I've nicked from demo games I've seen.

I was brought up in Suffolk, lived in London for twenty odd years, then moved back to Suffolk and then Norfolk - its only when you hear your voice back that you realise how London I sound.

Here are the shots of the 12 married Zulu skirmishers and snipers bases, there'll be more unmarried ones, they seem to have done a lot of sniping at Rorkes Drift:

Nah, you just sound English, which is a good thing. My biggest concern is how the beer tap is a whole floor above the gaming room, something must be done. Preferably in a Heath Robinson style.
