Some close of shots of yesterdays game at Salute.

For the first time many Sky Martian clans have banded together and in strength have launched a disciplined attack on the unsuspecting Earther Great Powers in Martian Capital city of New Victoria. The surprised British, French and Japanese rally their defences as returning expeditions by the Royal Geographical Society and Illustrated London News Overseas Reporting team try to make it back to the safety of the city.

The Daas Ak Maa fly over Allan Quatermain and Lord Belborough in their Belborough Industries Light Perambulation machine as they attempt to make for the safety of New Victoria

The Raas Taa Farri Clan from the Southern Martian Mountains, (a very dark skinned clan) fly towards the Japanese Defence platform

The Raas Ak Naa skiff is shot down, but the Trimsman manages to land the craft without casualty, its warriors spring from the deck onto the battlefield intent on enaging the French sailors outside the walls.

The Daas Ak Maa skiff takes a direct hit to the stern which knocks out its rudder, the skiff drifts helplessly over the battlefield. The crew however soon manage to descend by rope to the ground below.

The Parrott gun manned by French sailors brought down several Martian skiffs with accurate fire. Good shots those Frenchies.

The interior of New Victoria, showing the many warehouses and pump houses.

The Eee Bii Guum clan(from the Northern Highlands) descend from their skiff onto the unfinished railway viaduct and charge towards the Earthers

A view from behind the walls of New Victoria. British sailors under the command of Lt AA Milne man the ramparts.

French sailors and Japanese troops man a Hotchkiss rotary canon, using it to devastating effect on the Martians charging to meet them.

The Rass Ak Naa close with the French sailors, routing them from the table, but are themselves cut down by French Impervious suits, designed for vicious hand to hand fighting

The Kuun Ee Lingaas Clan descend from their skiff to massacre the Parrott gun crew

They then scale the wall and rush a unit of British sailors manning the ramparts.

So nice and a fun looking game.

Love the shots of the skiffs in flames.  :-*

Very cool.

I really like how the various Martian clans each have their own look and how that is also reflected in their skiffs.

VSF... done 1st rate!

What rules were you using ? Gaslight? Battles by Gaslight?
We use Battles by Gaslight for our big games.

Fuzzy.

Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly
down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red
Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture,
torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals.

I spotted Bullshot in one of the photos so I bet my life they use GASLIGHT.

 lol

No, we didn't use GASLIGHT. we have finally managed to move away from it. :)

We are using our variant of Sharp Practice, lots of changes to reflect the weapons, steam tech and Martians, but same mechanics.

Hmmm curious  :)

Why did you "move away" from Gaslight? I'll have to look at sharp practice.

Cheers
Fuzzy.

Lovely photos. It looked like a great game. But tell me, where could someone pick up those fine Red Planet Miniatures' martian figures and skiffs and the Oshiro warehouse and pumphouse buildings that seem perfect for VSF, EotD and gothic horror?  ;)

(I do know, by the way just incase people were thinking 'but the idiot's already said where to get them in his own question!'.)

SP fits more with the way we like to play games. The last few times we played Gaslight the turns were taking far too long. We were finding the games too slow.
