40k Pickup Truck?
« on: April 19, 2008, 11:13:42 AM »
Does anyone know if this is an old OOP vehicle from GW or Forgeworld? I've never seen it before but it looks pretty cool for many uses.

The Truck looks like itīs a combination of several 40k vehicles. The Torso ist from the landspeeder and the wheels are orkbikewheels. Sorry I donīt know where the other parts could come from.

Correct - several parts of landspeeder (the cabin, cabin top, foot rest) and marine bike (the wheels); the side panels might be from a Basilisk platform. Nice job - I quite like it.  8)

That's kinda good, I can see a market for those if it was possible to get them mass produced.

Not likely, I know.

Thanks for the info guys. I agree, looks quite nice. Too bad GW didn't mass produce such an animal. Oh well.  I guess it's time to hone some kit bashing skills.

Old Crow makes a nice pickup:

Resin, but the cleanest vehicle castings I've ever seen!

I'd second that recomendation for Old Crow vehicles - and if you drop them a line they are quite friendly and amenable to suggestions.
They might ignore them, but they'll always listen to new ideas.

I think the rest of the kit is from cardboard (roof and basket). The wheels are GW wheels but they're larger than the bike wheels, and are supplied with some Ork vehicles (or of course available through mail order). It's an interesting design though the landspeeders aren't exactly cheap.

Jo and Co. from Black Cat bases make a couple of generic sci-fi pickup trucks

They're not $61 and I want someone to buy it and tell me what it's like.

I came across the sellers picture library some time ago.

The number of his conversions/kitbashes is amazing.  :o

Given the cost of GW kits, he must now be a major shareholder  :D

Greydeath is a buddy of mine from the Work in Progress forum, (he's head honcho there), he's ex forces and has serious amounts of plastic, especially his tau and Imperial Guard/space marine stuff.

Doesn't suprise me that the buggy went for that much...he has a big fan base.

Cheers
