Outpost Inca and Huaxtec Warriors

These are figures Neil Burt and I worked with Jeff from outpost to have made to supplement the Foundry unfinished range, the Huaxtec are a pet want of mine to flesh out some allies and enemies for the Aztecs and Conquistadors.

more Huaxtecs coming to finish off the army such as feather suit weearers and warriors with quilted armour and bells and whisltles etc

Thought they would have some applications for Pulp or Swashbucklers on the LAF :)

I feel weird saying this about naked men, but they are gorgeous.

I love the bathtub palanquin most of all, but those are some seriously cool paintjobs. Nice tattoos and warpaint too.

"These are figures Neil Burt and I worked with Jeff from outpost to have made"

well thank you very much indeed then. I was delighted to see these recently and they immediately leap frogged to the top of my wants list.

The Aztecs were some of the most enjoyable figs I have done in recent times and although I have never used them and am unlikely to either I will definately be adding these.

Neils painting is wonderful and Jeff is a top bloke. Just great all round for me

Very nice figures! I've always had an interest in the early civilizations of South America and Mesoamerica, going back to Grade 6, when one of the first school projects I did was on the Incas.  Wish I'd had something like this to show back then!
One thing that has always puzzled me about so many ancient warriors, though.  Why did so many of them fight naked? I realize it's a sign of bravery and intimidation and such but what is the first reaction of most guys when something is pointed or thrown at their 'equipment'? Exactly! So, I would have thought that anything that covered the groin would have been appreciated, even if it was only a flap of cloth!

These Huaxtecs fought naked as a sign of strength and that of a warrior, they also slept on the ground out in the open to toughen themselves up a right of passage.

In Brazil the Tupi and other tribes fought naked even shaving their privates and head to prevent themselves being dragged into the enemies battle line where they would be taken for sacrifice or as food :o  This also applied to some Aztecs and their enemy nations.
