Space Hulk pt 3 air vents
« on: April 24, 2013, 02:45:02 PM »
Air vents for the Space Hulk, had to think about how to game this one, thought from above
it won't work as the corridors would be more narrow plus the full detail would not be seen nor
the feel of the game would be accepted, so i went on a side view. Thats about much of a plan i had
so the rest again is made up as i went along, the rivets in the last project never really stood out for
me so i came up with a better idea ... i still used the punch and hammer but the material changed.
All done on the cheap again, but mistakes made as always, but i think i am inproving.
I am in no way as good as some guys out on the web but my point is to people like me who are not as great you can do it, so pick up stuff and have a crack you just might suprise at what you have done.

The Victorian Outpost

Its a new gaming place in Grimsby with new terrain and new scenery, lots of respect for all wargamers and is the best place to game in town.

Anybody who wishes to visit the venue to arrange a game then  just pm me and lets roll those dice.

Nice post, very useful info there.

Question, have you tried stripping the straw off the caulking after it has set? I'm kind of curious about whether you could make caulking pipes with the straw as a mould?  o_o

i thought the same i think maybe chalk tube or some fast setting stuff would be good like no nails, was going to cut open the straw to find out but never had the time, got to do my Russo Jap figures to paint up.

Fantastic!
Measure with a micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with an axe, hammer to fit, paint to match!

Air bubbles would be a pain, plus stripping off the straw would probably break the stuff inside. DOnt be cheap, buy more straws!

My immediate thought was: Each section should be made so the 'man holes' would fit, no matter how they are arranged. But I think you have another plan in mind.

No matter what, the idea of '3D corridor sections' is great and could be used for a lot of purposes.

I have an 'elevated' game board, under which one could arrange some sub-terranean tunnels/corridors in multiple levels, so I might 'steal' the concept for future projects.  :)
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!
