While I am struggling to re-learn posting pictures, let's talk "bugs".
I thinking of having both "workers" and "warriors" in (essentially) all the types of bugs I want to field.
Final names TBD but here's the current draft
Standard - Workers (base color green) and warriors (base color brown) which essentially do HTH.
Workers can kill not armored and lightly armored figures, moderate chance of killing heavy armored figures and light Power Armor (PA) figures, no chance of killing (but decoying/distracting) standard or heavy PA figures. Can (poorly) fight, can carry off figures (multiple purposes) and can achieve goals within their capabilities (sucha s transport items into the hive.)
Warriors can kill anything but heavy PA in HTH and have a good chance of killing heavy PA. Attack on sighting non-Bug figures.
Specialist - these would be Bugs with natural capabilities mimicking "Special Weapons" effects.
Electrical - indicated by one or more yellow dots on the carapace which can kill in HTH non-PA and short out PA (paralyze the PA suits - recoverable based on a quality die) with a slight chance to kill PA troops.
Fire - shoot a natural substance that bursts into flames either as an area effect (if "missed") or a single figure if hit. Red dot(s) instead of yellow on the carapace.
Skirmisher - shoots shards (TBD) that pierce and kill non-PA figures and act as AT type rounds on P figures. Indicated with blue dots on the carapace.
Gunners - Bugs who are advanced enough to use actual "weapons" very much like human weaponry (copied from previously conquered alien races) and capable of semi-independent (pre-programmed) actions.
Brain - not on the table except in special scenarios. Several types which will need to be discovered or captured by the humans to reveal exact capabilities.
Queen - One per colony (more than one colony can exist on a large world but they only affect their own "children" Bugs.)
Empress - Does this character actually exist?
Maybe more if I give it some more thought.
Gracias,
Glenn
