Charles the Bold by painterman
« on: May 12, 2013, 06:34:14 PM »
LAF regular, painterman posted this incredible model on his blog. :o
(For some reason, I have not seen it on here so I decided to post it as a fan.)

The figure is a Perry plastic Mounted Man at Arms with some serious conversion to add the barding and some awesome painting work.

Painted version with more pictures is here.

The conversion is here

I have to admit I did wonder why he hadn't posted anything about it, it is rather special.  :)

That would be a fantastic figure at 54mm, let alone 28mm!

Oops - sorry chaps. Clearly should have posted on here too  :'(  I'm guilty of trying not to 'flood' the wargaming sites with my pics.
Many thanks for the kind words.
I promise I'll post up pics of the finished base on here - but will be several weeks yet.  :)

In meantime here's one of the duke with his herald, also done at the same time...

That's among the most beautiful pair of figures I've seen on this site.

Stunning work as usual!
They were all drawn to the Keep; the soldiers who brought death; the father and daughter fighting for life; the people who have always feared it; and the one man who knows its secret....

"Karl der Kahle" sounds so much better than "Charles the Bold", but your paintjob however is most excellent. The freehand heraldry is outstanding!!!

Indeed, that is some awesome freehand painting.  :o

The herald's horse is very nice as well.
