I still have trouble seeing it as Seth, I'm aware it's one of the spellings but everything I've read has him as Set. Including the Osprey book on his war with Horus.
So many projects..... so little time.......

Wow!  - very nice sculpts

I am a little bit disappointed that Mjöllnir is too much the Marvel version and too little the real scandinavian one and that the Egyptian does not have an appropriate weapon but a more generic one. This goes for Ares too, but there it is not that obvious.
It's a bit strange since the sculptor otherwise is very skilled at capturing the impression.
But then it's only my taste and I am sure the miniatures will sell fine

I hope we'll see some support for IHMN and Ronin in addition to this. It seems like osprey likes to spit out one shot games these days and then move on to the next game...

Whereas they are all lovely sculpts and worthy of much dribbling, this:

is SPOT ON!

that the Egyptian does not have an appropriate weapon but a more generic one.

That's an Egyptian long sword I believe, so certainly appropriate. Long swords from the nations in that area all look pretty similar which is why people prefer to give Egyptians a khopesh but the long sword would have been more common and was certainly adopted earlier (when the Egyptians finally decided swords were a good idea and not a waste of metal). Also, Set is the god of foreigners so if you look at it that way it's even more appropriate.

Now, all that said, I've no idea on the choices made for this one (I just supplied a few figs for pictures), but I'd probably have given him a khopesh :)

Edit: Actually, it's quite obvious why the Set figure has been armed with a long sword now I'm up in the middle of the night :) The Osprey book on the War between Horus and Set has him armed that way in all the artwork. Horus is the one carrying the khopesh.

No idea on Ares, did the Greeks have a special spear? They certainly used a lot of them.

 lol ;)
Ares has a short sword in the scabbard.

I did not want to say the miniatures are modelled wrong or unauthentical, only that a Khopesh would have been more prototypical and fitting to the rest of the appearance.  ;)

I'm pretty sure the 'h' wasn't used in the original pronunciation (it's an Egyptian thing LoL) so even though it's written as "Seth" its pronounced "Set".

Those are 4 of the best WIP of new figures I have seen in a long time. Really can't wait to see them in the metal.

Quite simply...

Where there's a need and a demand for more material, yes: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=54150.0

Where the game stands alone and requires no supplemental material, or where sales of the original book don't merit it, nope.

Ronin is a pretty self-contained game – even if it's ferociously successful, I'm not entirely sure what could be added. We'll see what the reaction is when it comes out in a couple more months...
