Game of Thrones factions (updated 21/07/13)
« on: May 19, 2013, 05:02:31 PM »
Hi,

I've finally finished my Brave Companions (well at least the 'rank & file').

I've still got to work on 3 or 4 specials (when I get suitable figures to convert)

They did come out a little ordinary looking (ie not too fantastic) but I like Front Rank figures.

I'm currently working on some Lannisters and the Brotherhood without Banners

Cheers

They look great, I need to paint faster as you seem to be doing the things I'm planning for my ASOIAF project before I do!

Really cool,

Vargo Hoat turns out really well. Will you do the other important caracters among them like bitter, Zolo, Huppé le ouf or Kiburn?

I found this pic on the net:

or this one:

This last one is a bit fantasy like, but they look cool.
Anyway, it's nice to see them as miniatures.
Here you can see my stuffs!!!

Hi,

I'm planning to do 3 'personalities' - the Jester, the Maester and the Septon.

I've already done the Maester (but I'm not sure about him yet, he's converted from the FR pack http://www.frontrank.com/big_pictures.asp?prod=385&pn=4) but I have to find some suitable figures that match Front Rank figures for the others.

My local games shop carries the Essex 25mm range, so I may go and scout round there or put out a begging post on LAF for a Foundry monk.

Sybou - nice spot - Grima wormtongue - excellent proxy figure. I too have just finished sculpting my own version of Vargo Hoat
Warriors dreams, summer grasses, all that remains

Hi,

I have started on my next faction, below is the 'main man'  - Beric (its still being worked on at the moment - I've got to think about his flaming sword yet)

I am also working on his standard (yeah yeah I know...the Brotherhood WITHOUT Banners but I couldn't resist the purple stars and lightening bolts!)

cheers

A suitably tattered/shredded standard would certainly do for his earlier campaigns in the Riverlands. A nice character - well executed. With one or two notable exceptions I have been idea-challenged for suitable character and proxy figures for Westerosi leaders. Its always good to see someone else's take on the G.O.T. world/books.

Being totally unfamiliar with the background story, I'm sure I'm missing much of what make the minis special. However, they all, especially the Zebra Rider, have an abundance of character & are BEAUTIFULLY brought to life through your WONDERFUL painting & modeling. GREAT  WORK!

I really like the definition you've managed on Beric's armor!  o_o And the zebra striping is well done too.

Hi,

I've just finished (well nearly) a couple of figures for Hoats Mummers - the Maester and my 're-imagining' of Shagwell.

I opted to do Shagwell not like a medieval Jester - but more 'Joker' like (from Batman) - this is mainly becausde I couldn't find a suitable Jester (that I could afford or that I liked). I've still got to work on his flail.

The Maester, Qyburn (even though I did buy a GW Grima) was described as 'having a fatherly face' and I did not feel that the Grima figure did. He was also described as being lean but that was after his diet.

The final couple of shots are the start of Dondarrions Brotherhood without Banners (complete with standard bearer!!)

Cheers
