glazing technique - of course it is possible
basically You are using it, but You create the shades with a tonal wash. if You anticipate the result of underlayer and colour wash in terms of darkness then the shading is the result. thean drybrush all over with an appropriate colour and You are fine

Ok, tried with the drybrush. i had to alternate with some washes, though.

left the new pieces, and right the old ones.

comments and suggestions are MUCH welcome

ah, i forgot the most important view: TOP view!

next time i'll try a total drybrush without any ink wash... let's see ^^

You are quick man!

Well, in the new version I can recognize distinct houses- is this what You wanted to achieve?

well.. yep, quite. actually, the houses have many details that are now hidden behind a violent drybrush. i'll try to enhance them in my next experiment.

:o Looking great, have you considered a drybrush with a buff coloured oil paint? It'll pick out the details in a much finer way than an acrylic drybrush.

oils are hard in this scale, but that's an interesting suggestion, if you can "expand" it a little i will appreciate! :)

anyway, i managed to do my best now, the central block. glazes, too much time for a single piece.

But at least it's cute! :)

I agree that the original wash method was 'muddying' the effect too much, but I don't know what to suggest that hasn't already been mentioned. Though I'm leaning towards mid base tones with a less-than-violent drybrush or other picking out of highlights. ;) I don't know if strong shading (i.e. the dark - black? - shades you're using here) is strictly necessary, and I think a lot of shading on flat-sided, sharp-edged objects doesn't look entirely right anyway. Entirely IMO, of course.

In any case I think the latest results look better, and pretty good. :)

thanks! The problem here is that the model i printed have really light details. i should print a new one, with much more sharper details. it will work much better then. I've already some 3d models, but i want to have a full city first, in order to have a clear idea of what to do to improve it.

right now i already know that some of those details must be removed, and maybe some other added. It's a long process, i'm venturing in quite a new field now. :)

Some more buildings on the paint workbench right now. I want to have a full set painted asap.
