Recent wild west gaming day at our club
« on: May 22, 2013, 10:35:05 AM »
Hi all

I've added a new page to the AWC (Auckland Wargames Club) site with a photo gallery of the Wild West themed day we had at the club recently. And the link is here

http://awc.wargaming.info/2013/wild-west-showdown/#.UZxuD9hfncs

And if you interested then we will be starting a campaign starting in July (in Auckland, NZ).

And some pictures and details (more on the link)

Cheers
Kieran

Great stuff, I love your adobe church :-*

It makes a refreshing change to see some decent scratchbuilds rather than all these new MDF kits. :)

Looks like a couple of fun boards to play on. Are there some shots of the train?

It makes a refreshing change to see some decent scratchbuilds for a change rather than all these new MDF kits. :)

Seconded (and altered your awful grammar and spelling  ;D ).

I also like the fact that the first game is played on grass, too many times are wild west towns in the desert  8)

Thirded!

That church is wonderful.
I love the smaller one with the stairs too, very characterful.

The only concern I have is where that train is heading...... :o

:-* Fantastic buildings and terrain. Always great to see more Old West stuff, we really are spoilt on this site. Thanks for posting.

Not at the moment. I'm still painting all the carriages and then I will post something. Its one of the Goldlok trains I managed to find here in NZ. We just used it to define the edge of the board (same with the wall).

Thanks for the comments about the buildings. Yes they are all scratch buillt and look very good. I made the Mexican town a few years ago but redid it with new bases, and details on the buildings such as the wooden beams and shutters. The stairs were added after a couple of games when I realised we didnt have any way to get onto the roofs. The pink church is inspired from the movie Appaloosa. Wayne made all the wooden buildings and really did a good job and got everyone into the Wild west at our club.

Heres the original version of these buildings
