Nautilus Model
« on: May 25, 2013, 08:18:03 AM »
I didn't see this posted and it didn't come up when I used the search function, but I had to share:

Looks like Pegasus Models has a new Nautilus kit!  Scale is smallish but looks like it will be about 16 inches long when built.  Maybe perfect for a waterline model?

This kit has been in their catalogue for 3-4 years, I had given up hope of ever seeing it

Looks like it's released now.  After a second look, that squid in the box would be useful as a model for LOTR wather in the water or other games as well.

Looking at the size of the hatches against the reviewer's fingernails, this would probably work quite well with 15mm figures without any modification.

rivet madness for sure, would need rework for 28mm.
66$ is not cheap....

It's not expensive at all. Vinal parts included in an injection moulded kit, I think that's rather reasonable.

Looks rather good although the bloke reviewing it was a bit naff, "It's about this long", well, obviously...

I like the design a lot and may see about picking one up  :)

Oh HELL yes!

Even the base has possibilities as terrain! (By the way, if he said that, can't hear the audio while at work; the first fifty seconds I was all 'quit teasing me, and open the damn box!')

I do find the price daunting, but hardly unfair.I must gird my loins! (After the 'If anybody should know' comment, that was probably unwise.)

My main difficulty is wanting both a waterline and full-bodied, running submerged, and this kit looks to be a challenge there. Hardly the first such...

(Whoops, no parenthesis there; so much for being a parenthetic fool...)

Glad I didn't hear about this before; waiting years would have been too sore a torture!

Doug
