Btw, what's your approx. room/floor height for these buildings?

My building methods couldn't be less scientific  lol The size of my doors are 4cm x 2cm. That may seem a bit high but with the size of figures these days it works for me. Anyway, I use the door as the point of reference for the rest of the build so when I calculate the dimensions of my build it is in relation to the size of the door. Sometimes I use actual buildings for inspiration so I'll measure the picture of the building assuming the door is 4cm x 2cm and scale it from there. Clear as mud?   ;) Saying that, obviously some doors are larger or smaller depending on the type of building but that's easy to get around.

The dimensions of the shop front in this build are 17.5cm x 9.5cm. If there's any other measurements you need feel free to ask.

Many many thanks for taking the time to answer and reveal your secret good Sir, much appreciated. I have few ideas for couple of brick buildings but the dimension thingy was somewhat holding me back as in making measurements, cutting something and then noticing that it was all bonkers. So this might push over the edge and make me try something out.

Very keen to see how the roof of this shoppe will look like after you have worked your magic on it.

Not to tread on Cheek's toes but just be aware that in general Victorian buildings (and buildings in general) have a tall ground floor and they tend to get lower as the building gets higher.

For example, a ground floor might be four metres high, the first 3.5, the second 3 and so on.

Good point there matey, forgot to mention that bit.

Pocoloco, you'll see on a lot of my builds the window size decreases on the upper floors and that's my way of showing the smaller floor sizes. Admittedly, this build is different as the window sizes are the same but that's how they were in the pic I took inspiration from. I just wanted something basic and it took a while to find the right pic.

Hi All,

Just a quick update. I had time last week to put the building together so these pics give you and idea of the structure.
There's still lots to do such as weathering, finishing the chimney, tiling the roof and getting the signs done along with some smaller details so I'll update again soon.

That is looking awesome  ;D

Could you provide a mere mortal like me with yet another piece of info (sorry if it has come up earlier already); where to get those windows? I know it would take ages to make them myself and the end result would not be pleasing to my eyes nor mind, for that matter.

Thanks matey.

The shop window and door is scratch built. The upper windows are Grandt Line S Scale and the windows to the rear are Dapol HO scale but I think they work ok for 28mm.

Many thanks O' Venerable One!  ;)  :D

Had to place an order for some of those Grandt Line products through Antenocitis Workshop.
