This is just fantastic! I'm bookmarking all of your threads, cos I'll probably end up copying some of your designs until I get better at doing these brick buildings :-)

If you don't mind, do you have any piccies of some models next to those Grandt line doors/windows by any chance? I think I'm going to place a big order soon, but want to be sure that I'm happy with the scale.

Thanks for the inspirational build threads!

Wow, that is amazing - a work of art!

How do you do the pointing on the brickwork?

When I attach the brickwork sheets to the foamed PVC I leave a slight overlap on one edge of each section. So when I put each side of the building together I effectively have an overlap on each corner. I then trim to fit and fill any gaps with Milliput or liquid Greenstuff.

If that's as clear as mud let me know and I'll take a pic for you.

Okay, okay so it's almost finished but as good as. I just need to add some more weathering to the brickwork and the signs.

Svennn put the signs together for me, all I had to do was print them and frame them. I think with a bit more weathering they will work well (cheers matey  :)):

Here's the business end, the roof tiles were supplied by Jimbibbly's Oshiro modelterrain and rather dapper they are too  :):

I was up on a flat roof the other week and noticed it had a bit of vegetation dotted about so I've popped some in, might add a small puddle too:

Bit of advice needed with this bit. I decided to have a broken drainpipe but I'm not sure if the stain on the wall is cutting it. I've used a few washes and then given it a gloss coat (doesn't show up well in the pic), any ideas on what else I can do with it?

I'll take some more pictures of the building in it's context as part of a wharf later in the week. Oh did I mention the wharf I'm working on?  ;)

Bloody brilliant, TC!
 :o

Another great build.
The proprieter may be more than a little suspect but the building certainly is not.
Great work as always, mate.
 :-* :-*

As for the broken drainpipe, I would be tempted to go for a more greenish tone to indicate moss build-up or similar.
I shall see if I can find you a decent example pic of what I mean.
 ;)

Now, back to the serious part of your post...a wharf, you say....

That's just marvellous, it really is. I think Paul is right about a greener stain on the downcomer break. But, hey, that's a minor detail! It's great. Cheers, Steve.

Amazing. :-* :o Another museum quality piece. Lovely details as usual.

Re: drainpipe. A little bit of ignored neglect - "we'll eventually remove that when we repair the drainpipe". If available I would still have the broken pipe bracket/clamp at the bottom still on the wall as if the pipe was removed but the bracket left in place or have bottom pipe section still attached to the wall but askew from the upper section.   Also the runoff when it reaches the ground probably would pool a bit at the bottom and not run straight off unless the concrete lip was at an angle.   In any case it looks good enough already.

How dare you tease us regarding a wharf! :) Looking forward to seeing it.

WOW!!..........just..WOW! :o :o

I think the drainpipe is subjective. I think it looks fine the way it is. Some people might add green, some brown, but nobody's wrong. The gloss'll work!
