Late Roman Church - finished 02/07!
« on: June 05, 2013, 02:00:00 PM »
Inspired by Mitch K's own church building activities http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=54499.0

I've dug out the Late Roman church I started work on last year.
Very similar, though not as nice, but with a much bigger apse <insert joke here>

Oo-er! What a big apse! I've never seen one as big as THAT before! lol

Lovely work mate, and I firmly believe this forum needs every bit of gratuitous inuendo it can get! ;D
Measure with a micrometer, mark with chalk, cut with an axe, hammer to fit, paint to match!

Ah Pringles, the model maker's friend! Nice work on the church. I really need to make something like that for my Dark Ages stuff.

So I've covered my apse.
And the rest of the church roof with some toweling

I have run into door trouble however. My chum was only able to pick up arched ones and they're a bit too tall - so I'll need to order some from warbases before I can continue! Looks like I'll be coming second in our "church-off"

I wouldn't bet on it mate! Quick is NOT a way to describe my builds. And I've got to figure out how to get a pointed end on my apse! And let me tell you, a pointed end on an apse can bring tears to your eyes! :o lol

Well Mitch has been steaming ahead, and I can't let him get too far in front
So some rendering and painting gets us this far:

Fantastic - it has a really rustic look and scales nicely with your miniatures. Well done!
