Definitely worth spreading the word about this film!
I had heard nothing about Appaloosa, but wound up thoroughly enjoying it.

Great movie. I've never read Western novels, but I am actually tempted to pick the series up. They are by the late Robert B. Parker (Spenser), if you are not aware.

Excellent movie, I re-watch it quite often. Loved the book too and I've been meaning to get the others in the series. It lead me to read a few of Robert B Parker's books which are great.

I loved the movie, and just had my local library put a hold on the first two books for me! Is it just me or does Vigo look a little bit like Jess James in the film?

I figured I wasn't alone.  lol

Yeah, Viggo looked great. Real cowboy appearance.  I've been a fan of Ed Harris since The Abyss. I think this is one of his top roles.

I think I might buy Louis L'amour's version of The Quick and the Dead with Sam Elliot next.

I actually didn't love the movie, but only because I can't stand Renee Zellweger's character.  However the relationship between the two main characters was nothing short of awesome.  It's also nice to have the main characters (I won't say heroes...) being more "normal" and not super upright mega justice types.  I like my protagonists to have serious flaws etc.  I do think the movie has some of the very best cold lines in it though.

"As a matter a fact I only shot two of your men...Mr. Hitch shot the other one."

"You brok' mah nose!"
"Well, Colt makes a heavy firearm, that's a fact..."

Some great one-liners in the film.

I've always said that Westerns are to Men what Romantic Comedies are to Women... lol

Great movie; Brigade games do a great set of Cole, Hitch and... the other one, Jeremy Irons? Brilliant likenesses for 28mm

Excellent movie.
The books are also great.
Sad there were no sequels.

I agree, excellent film, very well done.  Great buddy film - kind of like original  Butch and Sundance.
