Ravenloft figures
« on: August 08, 2013, 07:37:28 PM »
Hi I've just been left a load of old Ral Partha Ravenloft figures, these include a boxed set of denizens, vampires, gypsies, town mob, witches, werewolf s  and lots of sexy lady's etc. many are still in there blisters. How do you guys rate these figures and what sort of value are they. They do seem to have a lot of character and detail for their age.  THE CID.

Wonderful figures and I am very glad I got them when they were first released. I think they are still up there with some of the more modern sculptors. No idea what they are worth though.

I know that the lab equipment goes for a pretty penny on ebay.

I actually had the Lab equipment years ago, but sadly it went missing in my old house. I agree they are very nice figures.

Actually no, they are true scale 28mm figures, sculpted by the incredible Dennis Mize. True scale as in the proportions are anatomically correct so they look small and skinny in comparison to the more common bloated "heroic 28s" that are all the rage now.

Probably the finest Gothic Horror sculpts ever produced IMHO.

Individual prices vary from about $2 per figure to $9 or $10 per figure (new castings....used/stripped will be less). I have just finished painting a set of the Village Mob for sale, absolutely lovely pieces to work on.  Some of the figures are still available under different names/pack titles from Iron Wind Metals but most have disappeared unless you hunt the misc/job lot pre-slotta listings on eBay.

If you have that many to start with I would honestly suggest holding on to them and actually adding to the collection. Painted and displayed they will be wonderful.

Just managed to get the Lab sets and the Count Orlok type vampire. I have one hell of a collection now. All are as new and still not painted any.
