Please, show us some more of the French Dahomey models!  I haven't ever been able to find any except for the one on the Dixon page.  Thanks for anything you could supply (especially Tirrailleurs).

I'll post pics of the rest of mine as and when I get them painted, but I didn't buy the Tirrailleurs I'm afraid.

For pics of them in the bare metal, Le Matou Rouge posted this link when I was asking people if they were any good:

He effectively convinced me to buy a load of them.

And thanks again to everybody for the kind words.  ;)

I think I might have to snage a few of them.

Sorry to bring this up agin, but for those who were interested, here's the group shot of all boys finished:

I think they look kinda spiffy together.

Just a couple of pack horses, some bearers, and a mountain gun to finish now. Although there is the possibility of a supporting group of Askaris now...

It never ends!  lol

Sweet.

But that chap at the back on the right appears to be giving a socialist salute. I'd have a word with him if I were you. Don't want him spreading his funny ideas about equality to the natives.  :)

Those came out really nice.

Big thumbs up there on the paint scheme.  Looking forward to more...

Oh, Jolly Bob, I totally missed this topic, Ooops !

Your painting looks really good, especially the color scheme on Wor Tadge.
First I wasn't very fond of the Legion colors (white jacket, brown trousers : I would twist them) but the group shot is great and they stand out really well. The dog is a fine idea too (Eureka, I presume ?)

Nice work (I'd love mines look like yours)

Thanks everyone!  :)

Le Matou Rouge, yes the dog is a Eureka one. And the colourscheme was a bit of a fudge job for me, as I didn't know what the actual Legion should look like, but I didn't want them to look too much like any particular nation's troops.

Glad it's turned out ok.

Same thing we do every night, Pinky, try to take over the world!  lol

In reality, probably nothing, I just really enjoy painting, but there is a possibility of using them in an upcoming Lost World scenario. They just seem to be one of those projects that gets away from you; it started out as a half dozen adventurers, and is now looking like a whole flying column, complete with baggage train, base camp and artillery support.

To be honest, I don't care if they never get used in a game, I'm enjoying myself too much as is.

Finished the base camp as well!

Tents from Magister Militum, slightly modded to make them taller. Generic enough to use for most periods as well.  :)

I hope nobody minds me using this thread as a bit of a blog for my stuff, but this is the furthest I've ever got with a project without getting distracted. So, anyway, here's the latest additions to the force:

Some pack animals,

A team of bearers,

Lord Jim, the expedition scout,

Another Askari (only eight more to do!),

And last but not least, a mountain gun, christened The Great Bombardon, and crew,

I love that last picture, it looks like they've just realised that last shot is heading straight for the C.O.'s tent.  lol

Anyway, hope you're not bored with them yet, still plenty to do, all comments and criticisms welcome as always.  :)
