I love that last picture, it looks like they've just realised that last shot is heading straight for the C.O.'s tent.  lol

lol lol lol Oh man, I needed that laugh JollyBob.  Thanks.  Now to wipe my drink off the monitor.

By all means, keep the pictures coming.  I don't think anyone is getting bored with it.

Lovely stuff Jolly Bob.  Great painting!
How did you change the tents into making them higher?

Cheers

Hi Eric. The tents were easy to alter, I just glued a piece of 3mm hardboard under each one and covered the joins up with milliput. Now they look more in keeping with 28mm figures.  :)

Thanks to everyone again for all the nice comments. It's certainly encouraging me to keep going.

So you've only yourselves to blame!

Great stuff JB. I'm looking forward to seeing how this force develops.

BTW - dare I say that the officer with his hand in the air and the red epaulettes looks decidedly ....... Russian lol

Some pack animals,

May I ask where that donkey is from? Is it from Dixon as well?

Of course you can ask, I'm afraid I can't tell you though.  :(

It was in with a box of stuff I inherited from a family friend when his widow was having a clear out last year. There were a few pack animals that I have tentatively identified as Irregular Miniatures, but they were mixed in with a lot of home cast stuff.

There are couple of pieces that I think may be Dixon, but since both the websites for them and Irregular have few or very murky pictures for a truly massive range of figures, I've never been entirely sure.

If anyone can identify said donkey, I'd be interested to find out as well. Sorry I can't be more help, Paul.

It looks like a Dixon Donkey to me.

Thank you for your replies! The only Dixon Donkey with a picture I could find on their webpage was this one:

Doesn't look like the one you posted...  :'(

It could be "PD1 Pack Donkey" from their Old West range though... Or Irregular...

Well, there are bigger problems in life than finding the right lead donkey!  :D

Thanks anyway!

Well, don't say you weren't given the opportunity to stop me.

The next unit in my quest for the domination of the Dark Continent, a bunch of Askaris to bolster the European types, and run away at the first sign of bad ju-ju.

This was my first ever block painted unit of more than three figures, hence the really simple uniform colours.  lol Two of them were already done seperately as practice, so they don't count though.

Still to came, a few more bearers, a handful of musketmen to act as baggage guards, and maybe some characters.

Maybe a couple dozen angry tribesmen.

And a lion.
