I want to do a Highlander project, can you help?
« on: August 15, 2013, 05:04:43 PM »
Yep, Highlander...as in that cheesy movie from the 80s, and maybe some TV series stuff. As a start I'd be looking for a few figures suitable for the following characters:

- Connor Macleod (trenchcoat / modern)
- Duncan Macleod (trenchcoat / modern)
- Ramirez (Spanish outfit)
- The Kurgan (skull knight or modern punker)

The next thing that I have no idea about would be a rule set to simulate one on one sword combat. The closest I could think of would be gladiatorial rules of some kind. They'll likely need tweaked no matter what I choose, but if you've got some suggestions please share them!

Thanks in advance.

Jeeze you ask some right questions LoL!

Ral Partha and Grenadier did Kurgan type Armoured Warriors (Julie Guthrie sculpted the Grenadier one if my memory serves me well).

I converted a Conner McLeod for a friend some years ago, I used a Ral Partha Shadowrun "Male Shadowbeat Journalist with Trenchcoat and Notepad"

Did hand swaps, giving him a Katana in his right hand.

Beyond that, it's just a case of looking around (a lot LoL)

Great suggestions so far guys, thanks! That's half of the starting figure requirements met. The Connor model isn't great, but it'll do in a pinch. The Ral Partha one is actually a much better looking figure I think, but I'm not sure if I want to mod much unless I absolutely have to.

I have the Rogue Minis Conner, it looks much better in the flesh than on their website.

I'll try and dig up a picture.
