It's a "soft launch" so I imagine when they're editing it it's temporarily unavailable.

WTF?!? The core game will actually be $169. Holy crap, that's a huge amount of money for a board game. Waaaaaaaay to much for a game to get into IMO.

About $900 if you buy the game and all the available expansions.

I agree, it looks like a nice game but $169 for a core set, which sadly may only get played a few times....plus the expansions are a pretty penny as you said....that is like 3-4 car payments or as much as a house payment (or slightly less) for some people! I am sure it is a fine game, but I wonder about the price point. Maybe when they put prices on this they lost some sanity points.

I think if you saw the playing pieces alone you'd think it was a steal.

Phil's right, the minis are lovely and I was a KS backer from day one, until I realised that the game itself didn't appeal to me, for me Cthulhu games are more Arkham Horror, Elder sign or miniature games. The bits I saw online seemed to be lacking something (I prefer to spoof it up a bit if I'm playing cultist vs cultist, a la Creatures and Cultists or Cults across America), so I dropped my $300 backing to get some of the monster minis in either metal (from Fenris) or plastic. But is you want more thanh 3 or 4 models then you should get the game.

No I don't. I think it's a lot of money. The idea of informing the misses I spent 150 euros on a new board game...*shudder*
I think the maximum price for a board game is $100. And if you can't make it for that price, I'd rather have they adjusted the playing pieces so the final cost would be more 'normal'.

I think if you saw the playing pieces alone you'd think it was a steal.

They are nice, but also sometimes miniatures and games get a bit "inflated" in their cost. Sure, there is costs to make the molds, make the stuff, develop, etc...but if the price was lower, it could draw in more sales. Sadly most follow the mark up model of get the most you can and sell less, not more. So a term "steal" is relative to the buyer...to me they are stealing my money, to someone else it may be them stealing from them...matter of perspective. $900 can buy me a great deal of other minis and such I feel I would use more and get more value with my money in this economy (assuming I had that much to piss off).

I just think it is a bit insane (odd to say that for a Cthulhu game) to spend say $900 bucks on all that stuff, for a game that how many times will you play. So your value per game is what? (# of times played vs cost), sure some of the minis could be used for RPGs or games like Strange Aeons but some figs more often than others.

I do admit I am stunned at the amount of money people can blow on these KS and such...maybe they are filthy rich, blowing their college funding from loans, racking up credit cards and not caring about the interest. Who knows....I keep hoping to win the lottery to become one of these elite that can go, "oh, $1000 for that.." *click*....

No, no, no. You should inform your misses that you spent 150 euros finally completing your collection of Lovecraftian minis with gazillions of them. And bonus! They come with a boardgame too! :D

Hehehehe, the amount of times I see comments about gamers misleading their misses, giving vague notions on what they bought or staking out at the mailbox to sneakily intercept the mail. :D :D :D
