Lovely result and some innovative techniques.
It reminds me of the African Queen.

Thanks all. Yes it is largely based on the African Queen. More progress was made until I had to pack it away, my whole work area as well as most of the basement for some major home upgrades. Updates and pics in a few weeks. I am working on some stuff in the unheated garage though.

Braz,
Any update on the trading station? I'm considering building mine now and I wondered if you had finished yours yet?

Thanks Mad Lord Snapcase - I'm been searching for this thread for a week as I'm mulling whether to build one myself.

A few weeks turns into a few months into all of winter.  :( It's all still packed in the garage somewhere in the stacks of boxes(cue end scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark). Spring is here though and it should be back inside shortly so expect some pics soon once the table is reassembled.

IIRC the docks, ground floor furnishings, and signs are mostly built.

I look forward to seeing it in your game! I keep thinking about buying one and I'm very tempted, it's currently $110 and I've sent them an e-mail asking what the shipping cost is to the UK, so just maybe, I'll be building a U-Boat pen later in the year!!!  :-*

Snappy don't you have a rocket base to finish first?

Curses, you are right, my friend! It's going to be a busy year, colonial clubhouse/trading station, a secret rocket base and now a submarine pen. All it needs is a lottery win and I can give up work!  ;)

Doesn't look like you're giving up work at all! Every time you post, your workload seems to double.  lol

Very true, my friend, very true! I just don't have the discipline to finish one thing before starting another! Must try harder!

Photo update:

A few details to add before priming but mostly done.

Canvas roof comes off for access, mast comes off for storage. Again a few details to finish before priming

Trading post drop-in furniture. Will paint up before adding goods to shelving. And inside the outpost:

An alternate drop-in furniture piece; the tropical bar. Lots of small details to add once painted plus 4 tables to make.

]
Halfway through building a small tropical cabin.

Designed to fit against the dock sections.

Some crates from wood blocks and coffee stir sticks.

Removable altar piece for a temple. Built entirely from 1/4inch hardboard scraps.

Thanks for looking.
