My Sci-Fi projects
« on: August 24, 2013, 11:58:02 AM »
I'll be keeping track of all my sci-fi miniatures here as they are completed, which will range from Warpath to Sedition Wars to Doctor Who and more.
To start with here's my completed (for now) Enforcer army for Warpath followed by the Vanguard from Sedition wars that I am currently working on.  As the Vanguard will be seeing action in Warpath as a Corporation force they've got some heavy backup which I have just completed too.

Sorry for the image heavy start but that's everything caught up, please let me know what you think.

Very nice stuff! I particularly like the blue you used on the Vanguard force. Do you have any specific plans for marking the vehicles (numbers, unit badges, or something similar)?

I have looked at various transfers for the tanks but nothing has caught my eye as of yet but when I do find something they be getting some insignia etc.

Yup Warmachine was indeed the template for the Enforcers (I've seen a couple of Iron Man armies but I think this is works well).  As for the Vanguard my original plan was to do them midnight blue but once the paint was on I thought they were too dark so I used it as the base and got to here.  It was only when I did the tanks that I thought they had a passing resemblance to the Smurfs.

And thanks for the comments.

I like the blue troops/tanks very much :)

All I'd suggest is that the tanks could do with some markings as they look a little flat at the moment... but apart from that, great stuff :)

I love that Sedition Wars color choice. The blue really works. I haven't finished painting a single one of those minis yet. Hell, I have only five of them cleaned up. You're dedicated.

I've got a few more miniatures painted up and I'm about to start three more vehicles to keep things fresh:

Looking good :)

The Outriders will make good additions to the vehicle fleet... they tie in well with the idea of drones (although the vehicles aren't necessarily drones, the sensor array gives them that sort of look).

Cheers, I'm really impressed with how the Old Crow vehicles are fitting in with the SW range.  I had originally bought them for another project but I decided against it so had them to use however since getting the SW miniatures I've picked up another and plan on getting more as they go together so well.

I'm a big fan of Old Crow and have a selection of their vehicles myself.

It is nice that they are prepared for assembly when they arrive (surfaces sanded flat etc). It is also a shame that the vehicles no longer seem to be the main focus of Old Crow (with the e-mail ordering thing going on) but at least they are still available.

I am looking forward to seeing yours painted :)

Glad I can be of some inspiration.  I know how you feel though, I've got the outriders to do then a further 10 Vanguard and I'll be happy with them but the problem is what to do next.  I've got a small Veer-myn force that won't take too long to paint up so that's the most likely but I've also got a small heap of Akula's miniatures which are crying out to be done and then there's my Forge Father army... etc etc ;)

Gotta say : that was also the first that raced through my mind.
I've been thinking on using light colours, but this blue scheme does the trick.
