MAKE magazine is for the DIY crowd, and while it primarily focuses on electronics, computers, and very clever engineering, every issue so far has been full of wonderful, wonderful things. The latest issue is on Toys and Games, and it's incredibly relevant to miniature gaming.
There is an article on making a trash pile for your tabletop games. That's not going to break much ground for most of the modelers here. However, there is a great article on moldmaking by Adam Savage, one of the hosts of the TV show Mythbusters. The Mythbusters work for a special effects company, and have the world's best job EVAR. They're also brilliant designers, builders, and modelmakers, and have a spectacular resume. Adam in particular must spend $200-$300 on RTV per episode for his various builds.
The article is a very informative primer on moldmaking. The rest of the issue is full of wonderful things to read, well worth the cover cost. If you're in one of the better bookstores or news stands and see it for sale, you should buy it.
God wants it.
