I'm just catching up with this! :o
What a most excellent and impressive thread...with some of the most imaginative pieces I've seen since certain pieces of artwork were looted from a WW1 game.

One tiny suggestion - all those white rocks in the camp need a wallah to go round painting them, they don't paint themselves y'know.

Marvellous stuff. Carry on!

What a splendid idea!

This jolly chap is looking like he is holding a paintbrush in his left hand. Will he do?

Too posh to paint, Peder  ;)

But then I suppose he may be an eccentric gentleman artist-decorator...

Wonderful character.

Too posh by half - you need a squaddie on fatigue duty who is painting rocks because the the sergeant couldn’t find any coal for him to do!

Failing that a local tribesman who is painting them but all the while watching all that goes on, to pass on to his tribal brethren when the time comes!

I know Flashy is to posh by far. It’s just that his swatter looks a bit like brush. But I will, indeed, find a suitable walla or knave on NJP orders, white washing rocks.

I have not  seen these posted elsewhere here eventhough I am sure our friends at Empress are about to. I cannot contain myself though, so here goes, nicked from the Empress FB page:

Lovely. I've got the brigade one but the correct answer to an offer of another one with different turbans is "Yes, please!"

Nice detail.

Nothing says NWF as much as a a line of  grunts in interesting headwear trudging over gravelly ground.

A gem! Perfect addition to my staff and signals miniatures. Have I posted those?

Quite. Even when fighting the wiley Pathan, one must keep up with how our boys are getting on in the Test.

"Well, you know what they say, corporal: What do you call an Englishman who’s good with a bat?!

"No Sir?"

"A vet."

"LOL, sir. I would have texted it, sir, but that feature is not available yet. Over and out"

Some of you may recall that I started a thread (well, two threads, really..) elsewhere about suitable trucks for the Indian Army in the late 1920s to early 1930s.

Linky

I quite quickly came to the conclusion that a Crossley IGL was the obvious choice...

...but unfortunately it is not available in the 1:48-1:56 scale market.

I have instead decided to convert and scratch build the trucks from this little nifty plastic kit, available by the trusty old Airfix company. The Albion lorry chassis and drivers compartment is very close to the IGL 4, and the flat bed should be eazy enough to scratch build.

I have for the purpose ordered and received no less than three of these four wheeled kits, thinking I would end up with two six wheeled lorries. What parts that can be salvaged after the scrapping could end up as a burnt out wreck.

As I have started to build I realized it is perhaps a bit wasteful to butcher a whole nice kit just for the wheels. Furthermore, the front wheels have different hubs from the rear.

So instead, I have sallied forth and made a mould, using two part silicon compound and cast the wheels needed to create three rear four wheel bogies.

More pictures to follow...
