Exciting report and a lovely photo.  Really like the church being thatched in the background - great idea.
Now what is this whole life of mortals but a sort of comedy, in which the various actors, disguised by various costumes and masks, walk on and play each one his part, until the manager waves them off the stage?

I have now painted a unit of dismounted Knights for my collection.
They are intended to belonging to the house of Folkunga/ Bjälbo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Bjelbo

Many more pictures and a bit more information for those interested at: http://kampgruppe-engel.blogspot.se/2015/02/fralse-till-fots.html

I intend to use the rules for dismounted knights and the ideas about mixing dismounted knights into medium infantry to stiffen them up from the Feudal Scottish list which I find most appropriate for the type of warfare of an Medieval Scandinavian army.

Great project!

A question on the Conquest Normans:

How do you think they are, compared to GB and FF sculpts (poses and details)?
I have not had any of them in my hands, yet, but from pics they seem a bit below par (soft details, undynamic poses)?. Even cheaper than GB, but I am hesitating to get some for my early medieval needs.... (and the Conquest webstore is driving me nuts (just saying)!)
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Frankly I dont like them...

The poses are rather boring and the textiles or clothes dont look real, something how they "flow in the wind" or rather the lack of it.

The heads and arms dont attach the way Fireforge and Gripping beast do so to mix the kits takes more effort.
The horses looks rather bad to, especially the heads... It looks like someone took a frying pan and flatten them...

They can be made to look okay with some extra greenstuff or how you paint them but they are below FF and GB in value.

But as I said, with some work you can get decent miniatures out of them and they fill a roll as an early medieval option.
I have used the cavalry with other heads, shields and extra greenstuff as Saracen cavalry in my crusader project and I think it works.

Thanks, your reply confirms my reservations. I don't think they are for me, although I would like an army of Normans. Well, maybe GB (or someone else) brings out some nicer sets at some point....
