What will you use for air support, dropships and powered armour?

Well, for starters I had this idea that the British would be dropped in tuna can like drop pods.

I'd fit one tuna can shaped object on a base and make portholes all the way around it and some doors.

But at this scale I really need some Nefs too!  lol

I'm ogling exodus wars 6mm for some of the automatons.

lovely scale to work this out in. For some reason my mind starts thinking HOTT lists for these, any particular game system you had in mind?

Yes I will use Grande Armée. An American rules set for the Napoleonic era. There's a free fast play version of it online.

Each base is the equivalent of a brigade, with 4 bases making a division and overall you control an army I think.

There'll be around 20 bases to each side (~10 infantry, 4-5 cavalry and some artillery).. oh and then you need some command bases too. I really like how you can make each base a little diorama.

I'll add some 'flavour' too in the form of drop ships and so on.

You could always use WW1 type aircaft as air support. Irregular do these:

Irregular do a good selection (go to their 6mm WW1 page and scroll down to the bottom) http://www.irregularminiatures.co.uk/

Starting from the title, this thread is pure candy :)

what he said x 10000

As a 6mm fan I think you really can't say that 6mm is for lazy hobbyist. Your painting quality is outstanding for the scale and overall finish is pure awesomeness. I will follow this thread :) and the blog.

Finished a British command post and a city tile.

The city tile will be representative of a large city. This seems appropriate seeing that each base is representative of a brigade of troops.

I chose not to make the cities so the bases could fit in them. Instead aligning a base to a city means that the brigade is in the city and gets bonuses. A maximum of 4 bases can align with a city this way. Attackers can align with cities that are 'full' though... to attack!  lol

Very nice. Less than one year to go before the next BLAM, where we expect to be able to play this :)

It is probably this, Zorro Alley and SSS at GLAM from me I hope.

I have very little time to dedicate to miniatures right now, so I am going to focus on only three games at once. Finishing stuff.

Cute!

Y'know what, i think that to really give the feeling of the size of the big bugs (they must not be just oversized insect, no?) some scenery must be in each bug base: just some trees, or bushes, or a fence, or some dead brits. Very simple to do, but really useful to have a scale comparison!

Yes! I already have done this to some degree. British bases will also have dead bugs on them.  :D

Iiiiit's aliiiiive!!!

Ahem.

Well - you're thinking 'wasn't he doing something else just now?' and YES... I was. But this is a much more fitting project given the setup for this thing.

So there you have.

I will completely rebase my armies to Epic/Warmaster style bases and ditch the Polemos bases. They can be scenic and nice all day long but I find that they impart too many restrictions on rules and the like. I also very much like being able to place miniatures in scenary, which is neigh impossible for my bugs while mounted on the big fat plates they are now.

Sooo... first thing is taken care of: 100 bases ordered from Warbases. Yay!

Next thing is mounting everything I haven't painted on sticks with a hotglue gun so I can get painting.

Photos to come.
