Generic Campaign System
« on: May 21, 2008, 10:10:27 AM »
Hello,

i wonder about a generic, map-based campaign-system. We tried maighty-empires (old-version). It is to "Warhammer", you understand. Do anyone know such a system?

Does it have to be map based? The campaign system in In the Heart of Africa seems simple to use and doesn't need a map, nor does the one in Back of Beyond, a supplement fo Contemptible Little Armies, come to think of it. Hordes Of The Things (HOTT) has a simple map campaign system as well.
He that trades Liberty for Security will soon find that he has neither.

You could try the "Berthier" campaign manager software:

It's free and has had very good things said about it, although I haven't tried it myself  :(

HOTT [ Hordes of the Things] is from Wargames Research Group and is the fantasy variant of DBA, by the way and gives quick, fun games :)

Or you could have a search through the "Free Wargames Rules" site:

http://www.freewargamesrules.co.uk/

They have several campaign systems, but it does take a bit of digging to find what you're after.
