I've made several attempts at reading the Chain reaction rules now, but somehow it just doesn't "click", I can't get my brain around it. Maybe some solo test games are required...

I won't argue that 7ombie TV and indeed other sets (AR:SE for one) are not good rule sets... I'm also an avid fan of the former too... but in terms of all that the OP is looking for, as he listed... can you honestly say these rules offer them?

They don't suit everyone... but they do have what you are looking for. There is of course nothing stopping you taking 7ombie TV and adding what's missing though. If you already have them, why not?
