Pulp Alley AAR-Halloween 2013
« on: October 28, 2013, 02:03:01 AM »
I made this scenario to be more about survival than anything else. New follower zombies appear at the beginning of each turn along with failing perils or drawing red herrings. On top of that, characters that go out become zombies (allies become level 2 zombies, leaders become level 4 zombies, etc).

The game night was also a costume part so everyone dressed up.

There are four plot points that give the character holding it an ability (such as burst fire) and the major plot point is the car keys that allow that character to drive the truck.

Gramps goes toward the German shepherd as does the business man. They shoot at each other and are both grazed. “Is that the best you’ve got?”

Mordecai climbs a ladder onto the roof and begins shooting at zombies down below.

Zombies start to swarm the business man and Gramps jumps back over the fence for safety.

Sid shoots at the barrels next to a gathering of undead and blows them to smithereens.

The business man and Gramps engage in a fist fight.

Manny is attacked by a zombie as Lilith attempts to grab the scattergun.

Brick climbs the roof and attempts to grab the chainsaw. He fails the peril and turns into a zombie.

P.S. acquires the explosives.

The business man releases the German shepherd, it will now protect him.

Sonny climbs to the roof to shoot down the approaching hordes.

Mordecai is being slowly swarmed by zombies.

As Lilith reaches for the scattergun, a zombie crawls from out of the box and attacks her.

Explosives are thrown and engulf the business man and zombie in flames. The zombie is unaffected but the business man goes down screaming.

The zombies finally get the upper hand on Mordecai and he goes out, standing back up next turn as a zombie.

Zombies slowly surround the pub.

Lilith tries to run but Manny, who is now a zombie, follows her along with others.

More zombies emerge from the cemetery.

Tuppy goes down from a zombie bite.

P.S. moves toward the spot where the car keys are hidden and engages with a zombie.

Someone shoots at an explosive barrel and two zombies are engulfed and killed.

P.S. is swarmed by zombies on all sides.

Lilith goes down with Manny, refusing to go out.

Sonny goes down and a business man is swarmed.

The business man is surrounded and the German shepherd abandons him.

Everyone is swarmed by zombies. The survivors flee the city.

We all had a lot of fun with this scenario and near the end we were trying to get one of the leaders into a zombie. Lol Sadly no leader went down before the last turn and no one got the car keys. I guess everyone was too busy being eaten.

Another fun AAR.

Didn't figure it was so easy to get turned into a zombie, just by failing a peril...   o_o

Thanks for sharing.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

Nah, failing a peril didn't make someone turn into a zombie, but it did make a zombie appear.

In Brick's case, he failed the peril at the chainsaw and a zombie rushed him from the curtained entry. Brick ko'd the zombie but he was also injured (downed) in the brawl. Then he failed his Recovery check at the end of the turn, and that's how he turned into a zombie.

Injured by a zombie, plus downed, plus fail recovery = NEW ZOMBIE!  ;D

The guy had great fun with this scenario. By the end everyone was cheering for the zombies!  lol lol

"By the end everyone was cheering for the zombies!"

And that is a sign of a great game!

Nice board and miniatures.  Looks like everyone was having a good time so all of your prep was well done.

"The zombies surround the pub"

Flashbacks of my troubled youth appear to me in memory. Has it really been all that long ago?  ;D

Great game.
