Very nice this Wishlist so here's my contribution. Not very surprisingly it has to do with trucks. In total three of them; GAZ-51, ZIL-151 and STAR-66.  8)

Well thank you Arlequin. But where is this all going. Is there a interested manufacturer looking over your shoulder?

Well I know of at least one who pops by from time to time, but otherwise it is what it is, just a wish list...  ;)

Curiously enough it's the candidate with currently the most votes that is going into production. What bearing this poll had, I have no idea.

Can we have a Cold War minis poll too please?

Put me down for Korean war Americans, U.N. ROK and North Korean troops then :)

Too be fair I think that was almost on the cards when this started.

Can we have a Cold War minis poll too please?

My heart is telling "Hell Yeah!" but my rational side is wondering how many stickies it takes to fill the first page of the board... call it three votes for, with myself included and if it gets to ten we'll do it.

 :)

This poll is great for me, as it serves several purposes.

What do people game with, and what is tentative initial demand?

Our experience, is that folks say they really want something..but when you release it, you sell maybe 3 kits...and the resources you put into those three sales would of been better spent stocking something that your now out of.

For example, I have masters in my hand of several unavailable Cold War 1/56 models and none of which are on that list!  So they will remain shelved until demand makes them more relevant. (one will see release soon after the current wave..see the forums!)

If something hits about 10 units desired, the additional wholesale sales, plus the new release factor makes it worthwhile.  Or at least I won't lose any money doing it!

As you'd previously mentioned the BTR-40 and BTR-152 they were assumed to be in the metaphorical production queue, so don't appear on the list, if those are the vehicles you're thinking of... while if memory serves me, the M41 was not at that time. I could be wrong.

;)

Unfortunately the poll only indicates individual members interested in a vehicle and not the numbers they would buy of each item.

Using myself as a possible 'typical gamer' (note I did not say normal ;) ), I would typically buy enough APCs to lift a platoon, so that's 2-4 of each APC I decided to buy, depending on the particular force I'm building (so say 4 M59 for a U.S. Platoon, 2/3 BTR-60P for a Soviet-type one, but only 1 EBR-VTT for a Portuguese cavalry platoon). Likewise each truck or jeep-type vehicle I wanted, would see me buy at least 2 of them, in some cases 4, or even 6 in a few cases. Armoured cars I'd generally buy in pairs, as that's usually the smallest tactical unit for them.

Tanks are not so useful to me, but if I actually bought any, it would be two for a Western-type 'section', or I might go for a full Warpac-type 'platoon' of three vehicles... but they would have to be so common an item 'in the field', that I could justify my getting them, otherwise I wouldn't buy any at all. On the list above I'd buy 2 M-47, 2 M-41 (and probably 2 more at a later date), 2 M56 and maybe 3 Type 62, but that's about it.

I'm a somewhat obsessive completist, so my platoons have to have the full complement of vehicles (even if I can't run to buying them all at once), others I know just go for more sensible complements of one or two of each type. Some people just love tanks and don't bother with anything else... wrapping it all together though, I would think that for each vote for an item, you are more than likely to sell two actual models on LAF alone.

Correct me if I'm wrong guys.  :)

No you'e absolutely right. I will buy the minimum tactical entity. The M-41, I'd take one now as I have no immediare gaming need but as it's the fiftieth anniversary of the coup, I fancy having one as an (affordable) display model.

The BTR-152 and BTR-40 are in production now.  The BTR-50 is also in production with our UK partner.

I do have others :)

But more on that later...

I'd definitely be interested in a M53 Praga AA truck. Preferably in 1/48th scale,  but I would still buy it if it was 1/56th  ;D

I'm happy to take them on board as suggestions, as in "Brent suggests you buy some".  :D

VLD you may be the only person still gaming with 1/48th... but consider it added.  ;)
