I painted some new Turkic horse archers.

More pictures at: http://kampgruppe-engel.blogspot.se/2014/01/turcomans.html

The miniatures are from Perry Miniatures and Gripping Beast but they have switched horses to better mix with my other horsearchers, to create a more unified image.

Ive just finished some more Lord of the Ring ruins, these are components from two additional boxes.
After I finished the last box for my gaming club I was given two new ones to paint that was laying around there and collected dust.

Thanks Killshot.

Its time to start this project up after a small pause.

More pictures at: http://kampgruppe-engel.blogspot.se/2014/02/arabic-test-miniatures.html

The miniatures are Conquest games Norman Infantry but two of them have new heads from Warlord Games ww2 Sikh heads  http://store.warlordgames.com/collections/bolt-action-armoury/products/sikh-destroy-turbaned-figure-heads-24 , the other two have regular heads.
With some added greenstuff and the right colour pallet I think this could work.

They are a sort of test batch to see how those plastic miniatures would turn out.

Next up are some Azerbaijani Swordsmen.

More pictures at: http://kampgruppe-engel.blogspot.se/2014/02/azerbaijani-swordsmen.html

The Azerbaijani Swordsmen miniatures from Perry Minatures was the base for the unit but I have included some Warlord Games plastic Celts with new shields and some greenstuff mustashios and such as well as one Mahadist uprising plastic miniature from Perry. These were mostly for fun, I wanted to try out how well they would intermix.

I think works great and to expand this unit in the future I will definitely ad more of Warlords Celts.

I know nearly nothing about the Azerbaijani Swordsmen but with those nice Turkic mustashios and bare torsos I will use them in my Ayyabid Egyptian army in Hail Caesar as a sort of  Turkic mercenary unit with the Ghazi fanatic stats (religious fanatics) as I think that will be the most fitting.

Thanks

The cavalry one comes from Conquest Games plastic Norman Knight box but with an headswap from Perrys plastic Mahadist uprising box.
The other one is straight from Perrys crusader range.

WOW...great work on the ruins. You have really made these pieces come alive. Count me in on your growing list of thievery of a great idea. Your figures are also very nice. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Hu Rhu.

Latest unit, a new unit of Mamluks for my Ayyubid army.

Many more pictures can be found at: http://kampgruppe-engel.blogspot.se/2014/03/ayyubid-mamluks.html

Enough to make a small unit of Mamluks in Hail Caesar or to mix with my previously painted Mamluks to make a "standard size" unit.
