Right on Paul, you've succumbed to the OW setting. Smashing good show, I need some inspiration and some propper good builds to provide my little mind with possibilities. Glad that Brian's mum has setup shop in the Creek, but it does look a little bare of other folks ;)

Cheers, Matt.
There shall be a populace eventually.
One thing at a time, old chap.
One thing at a time.....

I may have missed it Mr Mason, but what will you use as a board? Will the buildings all sit next to each other like mordheim or will you do a board to fill in between?

I will be using this board that I origina;;y made for Mordheim.
It should work well for the Old West too, I reckon.:

It didn't take too long, about three hours in all. Probably helped by the insanely warm weather we had in the UK at the time.
Drying time was almost non-existent!

Basically it's a four foot square MDF board with a couple of lengths of wood screwed onto the bottom to hold it in place on top of the table.

It has been covered it in textured wallpaper, (£4 a roll from Homebase!).
Moved it around a lit before it dried and ripped a few sections out for variety.
Then the usual drybrushing from Burnt Umber, through Yellow Ochre and up to white.
A little bit of static grass, again drybrushed, and 'Bob's Your Uncle!'

Easy, cheap, textured board for a very reasonable price.

That looks like it should do the trick, ... should do quite nicely.

You might be able to get the jump on bubbles with this setup. Or has he also got a fully established OW township, a city and a full scale pacific railroad? Lol

 lol

Bubbles...?
I assume you mean Bibbles, but Bubbles is good too.
 :D

I dont think James has ever been tempted by Old West, even though Mama Mute has probably tried to tempt him in the past.

(That does not mean that he wont have already started building the whole West coast already. It is probably in the cupboard with the wizards tower.... ::)).

Forgot you had this table. Looks just the ticket.
Have you any natural terrain features?

The sword he sung a song of death,
But could not make the sickle yield."

I thought so.
Part of the initial 'generic' plan when making it.

As for natural features; I shall start with the town but rocky terrain, cacti and a Creek ( ;) ) are in the pipeline.

Haha, whoops. Auto correct strikes again.

Lol, exactly what I was thinking. But if he does start dipping his toe in, he has a red martian wasteland to provide a head start. Work quickly Paul before he gets started. ;) or it might be safer to assume he's already done it and it's archived away somewhere. "Oh you mean this little OW town I made for a client who changed their mind?"

Cheers

 lol
You may be right, Matt.
One can never be sure where Bubbles is concerned.
 :D

I mentioned at the start of the thread all the buildings that I had gotten hold of that were originally made by Bobble and philhendry but I managed to forget one that I had finished myself some time ago.

D'oh!
 ::)

So, to put that matter straight, here it is:

The Warehouse (ex-Livery Stables).

A prepainted Hovels Livery, with just a little more shading and drybrushing on the original paintjob and a scenic base added to it.

I painted over the original sign as I have been using it as a barn for Strange Aeons and a warehouse for Mordheim, so a sign saying anything specific would not have been appropriate.....
EDIT: I have since added the 'Thunderchicken' logo, but this can be hidden by a stack of crates should it be inappropriate for the setting.

The broken down gate and tyre tracks should be easily explained by a runaway cart, I reckon.

I do have to admit, though, that it seems strange to finally re-purpose it for its original intended use, the Old West.
 ;)

Hope you like it...

The livery stable will fit in nicely.

I'm getting confused with all the Bibbles, Bubbles and Bobbles stuff now!

That's another gorgeous building Paolo. Wel done. You are giving Bibbly a run for his money!
