15mm dragons,elves and Copplestone barbarians.
« on: November 11, 2013, 06:03:59 AM »
At last got round to taking some photos of the Copplestone 15/17mm barbarians now that i have the giants finished.
Also an old Grenadier dragon with a rider from Splintered Lights Romano-Briton range (original rider was an orc that i didn't like).

That's a gorgeous army! Have you put it together for the hell of it or is it tailored towards a gamesystem? :)

I just wanted to do something Fantasy or Lord of the rings again after long time (Back to the roots). As i love beautiful terrain as much as beautiful figures, i had to do it smaller than 28mm and i found the Eureka 18mm and Magister Militum Blood Dawn figs. I had only painted a few when Copplestone released his first barbarians and they fitted in perfectly (although not very LotR).
When the first 20 figs were ready i played "Song of blades and heroes"
With 60+ figures painted i moved on to my version of "Triumph & Tragedy" (Triumph,Tragedy & Trolls)
Now i have over 200 done so i use "Hail Caesar"

That's great stuff. The giants look brilliant, I wonder if they fit with 28mm.

Really beautiful work!  I have the new mounted heroes and 2 giants on the way for Christmas.  Have the other stuff from Copplestone painted up and they are great.

I have a Dragon i'm in the process of finishing and some bits and bobs in 15mm fantasy on the way! This gives me the urge to go and pick up some more!

The Little Folk are certainly finely detailted as well as BEAUTIFULLY painted. Only the thought of the eye strain involved keeps me from seriously considering going to the smaller scale...along with a horrendous backlog on 28s. Be that as it may...VERY WELL DONE!

Simply superb, Rob! Arrgh, if I only won't have that large unpainted 28mm collection in my drawers ... Absolutely tempting!

I think we need some more pics here, won't we?
