GS goes ECW
« on: November 14, 2013, 07:20:21 AM »
Hi!
As some people in the local club try out ECW/TYW gaming with Pike&Shotte, I digged in the pile and got out my Battalia Box. I plan to play royalists in the ECW.
Here's the first Northumbrian musketman, a try at how the minis look with a minimum of work.

forgot to remove a casting flash here. Will stay out of sight in the unit, I suppose.

All the minis will be based single to be able to to use them for other games as well. Therefor I have chosen to base them on magnetic foil. Movement trays will be made from ferrooil or thin cardboard coated with ferro paint.

Cheers

Very nice. A simple but effective style. I did my ecw in a similar fashion.
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Good results for that "minimum" of work!

If that's "a minimum of work", I wonder what your figures look like when you really make an effort!

Thanks for your kind words.

Year's ending, time is getting hectic inspite of everybodys wish to have a time of long dark evenings to spend some time thinking.
I managed to take some quick shots in between xmas parties of the two growing battalia. 9 more figures and the battalia will be in full strength (2x36 = 72).

I hope to field them soon in the local club and am looking forward to expanding the army by a Montrose collection.
Hope you like them, too.

Cheers

As said in the post before: Year's ending. I have made the race to paint the battalia box in two months thanks to extended holidays over christmas.

Have a look, I hope you like them:

I'm not a fan of the Warlord plastic ECW figures, but they do make a pretty attractive spread en masse like that. Well done  :)

Wonderful paint and brush work.

You have a fantastic style.

Thanks for the pics!

After some time waiting, the Army of Montrose has come to my home in Bremen, Germany.
The poor bas***** have been lost in the void, but now they are forming into neat lines to join their english brethren in their fight against parlamentarian scum.

Hopefully the process will be done by the end of february.

I will keep you informed should there be any interest outside my home  ::)

Cheers

Times full of real life had me in their grasp. But three days ago I happened to come back:

Sorry for the pictures bad quality. I have to improve my skill at taking pictures.
