Tudor Badges
« on: November 20, 2013, 09:13:53 PM »
I am rebasing and tarting up my WotR army, I have inherited some Tudor contingents, Owen and Jasper. Anyone any idea about badges other than the red dragon? I have the Freezywater books and nothing really is mentioned as badges for these two.

'Sir John ejaculated explosively, sitting up in his chair.' ... 'The Black Gang'.

Thanks for that, but I already have the coats of arms, they are no problem. It is their badges I would like to find, as I said I know the red dragon may or may not have been one, but I suspect their were others for these two.

Now I get confused about these things but if I am right in thinking that Jasper was the Earl of Pembroke, then Osprey 145 'Wars of the Roses' has 'Gold draft horse' as his badge. There is no image.

I'm not entirely certain, but I believe that Edmund, Earl of Richmond (HenryVI's dad) was the original user of both the red dragon and the red rose, along with a green and white livery. Henry changed the rose design to red and white after he married Elizabeth of York.

Even if it's wrong, it looks very Tudor and very smart.  ;)
